Just curious what the furthest you have traveled to see an art show?

I've traveled from Los Angeles to Seattle, New York... and Toronto next month. Hopefully will travel to Amsterdam to see a Chris Berens show one of these days.

Over the course of 5 days...
Flew from Baltimore to San Fran. Rented a car and drove directly to a gallery downtown (where I eventually bought a piece). Hung out in the area for a couple days. Squeezed in a Weezer/Blink 182 show in Sacramento, where I snuck into the pit. Drove to San Jose for the Todd Schorr exhibit. Then flew to L.A., rented a car, drove to a gallery, immediately drove back to the airport and hopped a plane back to Baltimore.
Southwest Airlines flight vouchers made it all possible.

Been to Paris several times. I made sure to spend two days at the Louvre during each visit. First time was 1998, I was there for the World Cup. It truly was one of the best experiences of my life.
edit-didn't realize you said "show" and not museum. In that case, LA to NY was the furthest i've traveled for a show.

For me, I've taken a SFO-PEK flight to see David Choe's show. I have to say that his show probably was his best show so far even better than his London shows though I never saw his shows in London yet. I've gone to a few of his receptions here in the USA - NYC, San Jose, and SFO. Again, his Beijing show is definitely the best one since he had three HUGE rooms to fill in with his masterpieces.

When we lived in NY, we would travel to LA for shows. Now that we live in LA, we are planning a trip back to NY.
I've traveled to Switzerland, Chicago, and Boston. And will be traveling to see the Clayton Brothers in Wisconsin later this year.

Since 2006 I have travelled 5 times to Berlin to see different shows at Strychnin (Elizabeth McGrath, 2x Kristen Ferrell, Jennybird Alcantara/Edith Lebeau/Bethany Marchman and the "Magistrates" group show last November). 2 times I was too late to book an affordable flight, so I had to take the cheap overnight bus that is a 10-hour-ride - once pretty much a sleepless one, as the bus was full of Metallica fans on their way to the concert in Berlin (although the guys were really nice and shared their beer). Oh, what I endure for art... Edit: Trying to make it to Rome and/or Hamburg for shows in 2010, and the big goal is to combine a trip to the US with attending shows in LA (Mark Ryden would be nice ;D).

so far I traveled from Zurich to Hamburg and Munich a couple of times to attend a opening. Wherever I go I try to make it into a gallery showing the art I like. Hopefully will make it to a Berens show once. If there is something popping up in NY of interest I will definitely try to make it there, too.

I went from the UK to southern Italy for the FAME festival but did it via France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Germany (again) so it was quite a trek.
I went to NYC for a music show though (the Temporary Residence birthday party a few years back)..

Drove from Cleveland to Miami for Art Basel. The drive went quicker than I thought, but 20+ hours in a car with two kids was still fairly rough. They're troopers, though.

The EU is the furthest. -Went to London from DC to see the Banksy Exhibition in Bristol. -Went to Italy to see the Last Supper and Murakami... sadly the Last Supper needed an appt/reservation so I missed it. -Went to Amsterdam to see Rembrandt and Van Gogh.

just had a quick total up and i've travelled over 41,000 miles to see art in the last 12 months. that's not counting anytime else i've travelled and seen art at the same time.... sounds a lot. i guess my carbon footprint is off the hizook! the earth's circumference is 24,900 miles, so i've nearly been around the world twice for the sake of art.
the furthest single distance is uk-la.

I recently traveled from the UK to Rome to see the Apocalypse Wow! show at Macro Future, although I did turn it into a mini holiday. But the exhibition was the reason for the timing of my visit. Definitely worth it for me to see artists work in the flesh that I never have before, eg Camille Rose Garcia, Ron English and Junko Mizuno.
I have also made sure I've visited the Shooting Gallery and Gallery 1988 on visits to San Francisco. The one time I went to Seattle, Roq La Rue was shut so I had content myself with looking through the window!

I traveled from OH to NY in '06 for CRG's opening at JLG. Whenever I am on trips though I try to stop into the galleries of this genre in those areas.

I'm trying to jump on a truck that's going to SF in the beginning of April so I can have a look at the Kuksi exhibit. Sadly I won't be taking one home as the funds are currently depleted.

Not a fair question, I consider myself as a traveler and although art is never one of the main draws to a place it always is an activity upon arrival. Art is everywhere and seeing it wherever you are is the best.
I Went to Paris and passed on the Louvre and went to the Musee d'Orsay instead and wandered around the galleries every day and night on my way home.
I was on a cruise with my family and the sole reason for getting off the boat was to see the David in Florence. I went to Bruxelles to visit friends and dragged my girlfriend all around searching for Roa's pieces and the cartoon murals.
Furthest single distance ever traveled though would sadly only be around 1 hour train or so.

Denver to LA but I don't know if it really counts because I also go out there just to see friends and family. But sometimes I secretly only go out there for the art.
