A little surprise to anyone coming to the Artwalk, but we will also be hosting a "Pop-Up" gallery across the street from project: in conjunction with the Lab 101.
New work form Ken Garduno, Ryuichi "Ogi" Ogino, Lisa Alisa, Cherri Wood, Dave Flores, Chris Devera and about 20 others. PLUS a room full of private collection pieces on sale including work from Sam Flores, Rich Coleman and more.
...and dont forget the show in project:gallery - I just picked up two ridunkulous new pieces from Edwin Ushiro.
See you here.

This show is now online for anyone hoping to check it out: www.projectgalleryla.com/store.phpI can testify to this: Tessar Lo's "Falls" (posted above) is gorgeous and mysterious, and Edwin Ushiro's "gradiently everything would sparkle from the sea to the stars" is amazing – huge, spooky and really unique. I think it's actually a bit more saturated than this jpeg lets on... the transfer film that he works on must throw off a sheen that dilutes the color intensity a bit. Nate Frizzell's "Nest" is pretty cool, too... bright, humorous and elegant. And for those who liked that Scott Belcastro blue deer painting I scored last month, he has several more great pieces in this show... some of them continuing the story with the deer. In particular, I loved a panoramic piece he had in the pop-up show across the street of a tornado approaching a bunch of rabbits on the prairie (which project doesn't have online, but you really should ask Beau about it). I've said it before, and I'll say it again – the detail in his paintings is phenomenal, and there's simply no way you could come close to seeing it on a computer.
