Ok i'll give it a shot...
The truth lies low it’s late to leave incendiary match and some gasoline My formaldehyde heart & your brimstone eyes reveal the cold darkness where our love lies
The past bleeds into present mind Time now to leave the shame behind you stalk my dreams & haunt my head I turn pain to power but my heart is dead
Thoughts burn venomous disease I will return revenge release I will reveal, reclaim our truth of love not lost but in it’s youth
I rise from the ashes of the flames of hate to restore our love to its natural state I bring no vengeance, blame or curse just hope for the future we both deserve

Excellent 1st entry Greenhorn.
Please state which image/title the poem is for. It should be for one or the other, not both. Thank you.

ahh, I thought the poem had to have the title in it, not necessarily be about one of them. In either case, mine is for Leave the Shame Behind.

for "Leave the Shame Behind"
As it turns out, I never turned in the key to the room where we'd left all our sins, hiding within the silence of sleep and carefully pressed between soft linen sheets.

I'll play, here's my ante.
Leave the Shame Behind
A sad lingering bump, Rests on rocks and tree stumps She wishes I could reveal a sunny springtime Clouds that walk away A huge mistake runs up past me in a puddle's spray I am drowning and she saves me,
If only I remember what I did
She can't be shocked by the reflection of you but only by the memory lost from you.

How about a little Haiku!
My entry:
Night draws slowly in whispers of thoughts unkind leave the shame behind

These are on canvas? Awesome! Here's my entry for "Leave the Shame Behind".....
What's done is done and there's no going back Hide my eyes in my hands for honor I lack In temptation I swim and run about Crossing my fingers no one will find out Attempt to make an excuse to justify my means Only leads me to the path of wretched fiends Acting out with vulgar, my thoughts, my dreams My laughter and joy overshadowed by screams Desire to lock myself up and throw away the key To protect those around and make myself see What lies ahead may only be assumed My heart and my thoughts i've already consumed

Fist hits flesh She still loves me I'll never do it again She still loves me Hands around her throat She still loves me Promises unfullfilled She still loves me I've gone to far She can't love me anymore Leave the shame behindThis is my most recent short poem, please help end domestic violence, or be like the guy in this print, regret can be poweful. This is a beautiful print, I'd be honored to win this and have it in my home. Thanks for the contest.
