Wanted to start a thread on art books - good ones, new ones coming out, etc. Jeff Soto and Joe Sorren both have new ones coming out from Murphy Design, as do Kathie Olivas/Brandt Peters and Ray Casesar. I'm planning to get them all .

I only have a few. Mark Ryden's(Blood,Anima Mundi,Fushigi Circus) are great. Metamorphosis#1 is a another good one, it features art by Kuksi,Zar,Hattori, & Andrew Gonzalez. #2 should be even better it has Hussar,Barber,Bozic,Giger,Jacenko,Louie,Earley,Stoupakis,Simkins... I'm also looking forward to the Hi-Fructose Box set. Heres's one I just got and love: Usugrow's Love & Hate From Japan

Yeah, Park Life is great - haven't been there in 2 months or so, they always seem to be closed when I go (I guess I could actually remember the hours) Anyway, I'll definitely check in with them.

Park Life rawks. Good merchandise, great art, and a real knack for spotting up and coming talent. Store hours are pretty extensive: Noon - 8PM Daily Noon - 9PM Fri & Sat

When I talked to one of the curators at the Laguna Art Museum, there were no concrete museums lined up.

Looks like Jeff Soto's new book is gonna drop soon. Looks pretty sick. Comes with 4 prints! "Jeff Soto’s new book, “Storm Clouds” will be on hand at the San Diego Comic Con, July 23 and available for pre order the same week online. The distribution date of the book is the end of August, with the special edition shipping mid September. If you attend Comic Con, Jeff will be offering a new zine, “Brain Decay,” and will be be on hand to sign. After Comic Con, Jeff will be going into hibernation into his studio as he readies himself for his first museum exhibition mid-December at the Riverside Art Museum. Stay tuned." More details here.

Hmm not sure if it is limited. It's pretty nice though. It also has the piece I used to have, on the cover so I am biased. Haha wow, didn't even notice that. congrats on the cover. very nice.

The Metamorphosis books sound good. I shall look those up.
I just got the Chet Zar 'Ugly Americans" book. Its nicely printed but a tad flimsy.
Must pick up the Brandi Miln book too that looks splendid. And looking forward to the new Soto and KO/Brandt books. (Got Ray's on preorder..............one day it will be finished..)

Saw this on KR. This looks like a cool concept...they will probably publish other sketchbooks as well but here is Joe Ledbetter's sketchbook. Each edition is hardcover bound and ecologically friendly, printed on premium 100% recycled paper. 184 pages, Hardcover, 7.25 x 10 inches, 100 hand silk-screened, signed and numbered 6x8 inch prints will be randomly inserted into pre-orders.
