yeah, because no ones ever sold street art before. how are interested collectors supposed to buy work, more importantly, how is the artists work supposed to preserved and admired? do you think that only work produced for galleries should be sold or re-sold? what would you suggest? leave it on the street for people to enjoy? ahhh, whatever, it doesnt really bother me.

That is a cool piece. However, without written authentication it's worthless.

That is a cool piece. However, without written authentication it's worthless. exactly. I know Lauren and unfortunately she is in no position to authenticate anything as an independent ex-employee from G&L. Without a reputable gallery that works with Brian and endorsing the piece or obtaining a COA from Kaws it's simply a novelty. Not saying it's fake but without true provenance it aint much different. good luck, it's unique piece.

I can also assure you that Sandra Gering knows nothing of this piece. Do you have any clue how many fakes are out there... good fakes that have gotten by even kaws experts like Piro. So in the end are you asking us to trust you or the x-employee who didn't even know who Kaws was three years ago?

It's official, Sandra knows nothing about this and in her words.. "desperate people will do desperate things"

I am not an expert on KAWS prices but IMO if you were offered 15k for it you should have taken it. That is a lot of money for a street piece that will never get written provenance.

Considering he was trying to get around 50k initially he's in a bit of real world shock.
Bendunn, the issue is not whether it's fake or not. If you cant authenticate it then its a dead issue as far as most collectors are concerned. Think about what you are asking someone to do... its insane, you paid nothing so be happy anyone offered you anything.

I am going to assume either a Mod deleted the first posting ( which I think is very unlikely ) or the OP decided he had taken enough heat and deleted it him or herself, as they have not been signed into the forum since March of 2011
