alyssamonks.comi didn't see a thread for Alyssa Monks so i thought i'd make one and share some of her work. people seem to really like Linnea Strid's water paintings so i thought Alyssa might be of interest because she does paintings that all seem to deal with water elements and in my opinion are pretty badass. her webpage is pretty cool because you can see details on some of her paintings and the details zoom in pretty close if you are into that kind of thing. she has a show coming up this month at dfn gallery in new york starting on april 7th. thanks for posting peetov. i like the filtered piece - the condensation effect is pretty fine looking. the first piece is pretty distressing though. i'm reading that as someone trapped under a piece of glass or sheet of ice....

cool stuff svenman. i see the resemblance and thanks for the link i will be checking out more of that guy.
the first pic is pretty disturbing i agree...i was just trying to give a little variety and it was a newer piece of hers with a unique look to it. then i realized i posted Soft and Window which i hadn't meant to do because they look pretty similar. woops. i think people can get the idea though. if you look back in her portfolio she does more of just wet figures not abstracted by the steamy glass that are also very cool looking. her stuff is way out of my price range, but i really like it and hope some others get some enjoyment out of it.
