Congrats on the awesome purchase. I dropped by and checked out your piece in person and Garden's Edge looks amazing! You made a fine purchase.
Oh and welcome to the board! See you Saturday.

So much attention to Yoskay's show this month I would be remiss to not mention that Melissa has had a very successful first feature show as well. Her oil paintings have sold out, and she has sold most of her drawings as well. Make sure to take a look at the show online lebasseprojects.com/current/melissa_haslam.html, or visit us in the gallery before the 28th...

Hello Kitty art. Seems like a good idea. Wish I would have noticed there was a show sooner.

Haslam has matured before our eyes into an amazingly talent. Loved her early loose style but her new work has my jaw on the ground.
Congratulations to whomever scores these beauties. Kudos, Kudos!!!

Usually I would look at an artist like this and say that it is great work but not my type. This last series of oil paintings though has me in love, I can't wait to see more of her art. I am amazed to see the difference in her work from one show to the next.

I really want to see the new work she is coming out with. She has emerged as one of my favorite artists.

does she paint from computer generated illustrations? i can't seem to shake the feeling that many of her faces appear as though they've been computer generated. would like to see these in person.

These are all painted from reference - typically her sister. Haslam really keeps moving from style to style as she is reaching and trying to explore different directions. I actually have a series of ink drawings a la Art Noveau that we are going to save for a bit...
If you have seen her exquisite drawings you can tell that she is not just someone 'borrowing' their source material and printing them digitally.
