i really don't like straight up graffiti canvases in gallery settings. cope is a perfect example of this. all i see is him trying really hard to re-create a crushed wall, or his perfect cope bubbles. to me, it just looks wrong. i'm also getting to that point with his commissioned murals. they're a little too straight forward and simple. cope cope cope cope cope. don't get me wrong, the man is a legend, and has a sick style and a skilled hand, but as a gallery artist, no thank you.
