some cool stuff here but why are all the works tacked to the walls? interesting style of presentation.

I can't vouch for why Carmichael chose to display this way... except to save the cost of framing a buttload of pictures. However, they actually weren't tacked... what appear to be tacks are magnets that are presumably attracted to something metal attached to the wall behind the paper.
