eh, people come here and their first post is to sell stuff. maybe there should be some kind of rule, like 10 posts before advertising?

Or could we at least not allow items for sale that are on ebay or create a sub forum for ebay items so people who may be interested don't have to compete with ebay.

I think a bigger issue is the kind of art listed for sale. I belong to several art forums, and Artchival is rather unique in that it focuses on original works from a wide array of modern artists. The street art prints above are better listed for sale on the EB Forum, The Giant Forum, The Banksy Forum, or eBay. If the OP had listed original paintings for sale, even if it were a first post, I would be very interested in this sale thread, and would disagree with your comments.
As an aside, I have been amazed at the number of people who visit this site, and the relatively few who post anything. In the last week, there have been only a handful of new posts each day. This is just an observation, not a judgment (good or bad). I should also mention that I bought art from three members of this forum before I had 10 posts, and I think they were all appreciative that I did. If a relatively new member can send PMs and arrange to purchase art, then why shouldn't s/he be able to sell art? Just my 2 cents.

If posting prints for sale in this Forum is inappropriate, I will remove it. I did see other Sale posts for prints, and did not see any rule saying originals only.
I have not spammed anyone, my prices are not gouging, nor am I a flipper. I did put a couple of these prints up on eBay along with others not listed here, hence the link to the auction -- which avoided "clogging" the Forum with another post just for auction. I only posted pics since many like to see the piece in case they are unfamiliar with it.
I would hope that this community would welcome a new member, regardless of how they ended up here or what their first post was ... provided they have not abused anyone or the rules.

Streetgraf, welcome to the forum....
i dont mind the selling, it gives me an idea whats out in the secondary market, which part of the art world.
Its almost the same as posting what works are available in an upcoming show or something......
peace!

Personally, I think this: "Pay as PayPal gift and shipping is free." is the worst part of his post.

Post of the year? I think so.
Had to arbitrarily quote it earlier so it wasn't edited. Man, that thing brought me so many laughs earlier to an otherwise drab morning.

.eulav tekram revo llew stnirp yebo fo hcnub a lles ot si tsop tsrif ruoy dna ereh emoc uoy fi enil fo tuo s'ti kniht I . Wow, if you think my list prices out "well over market value" then you don't know prices for Shep's work, and clearly don't get the concept of negotiating ... Megaphone: listed equal to lowest 2ndary price recorded Star Stencil: 30% below highest sale price Keith Haring: $8 above 6-month sale avg (Is that "well over"?) J Pattern: $30 above avg set price (meaning $7 per print above) Eye Alert: Below 6-month avg for set & WAY below avg when prints sold separately I could go on. But what's the point? If someone doesn't like idea of PayPal Gift in order to save shipping costs, no prob. Can always pay as merchandise and pay shipping costs. Is it wrong to offer an alternative that enables me to pass along savings in fees as free shipping? Jeez. I belong to multiple forums and participated for yrs w/o incident or such attacks. Thx to the few who welcomed, even if they preferred to see another kind of 1st post. To others, you're right ... I must be a horrible person to offer prints for sale before posting something else or waiting some indeterminate length of time. Congrats, mission accomplished. You can regain the purity of your forum. Mods: feel free to delete this thread.

Please pardon me. No one said you were a horrible person. I only saw one post in this thread that seemed aggressive. Good luck selling your things.

I don't really like to see people challenge the pricing of others...
if someone doesn't like a price, then they will either make a counter offer or vote with their feet and stay away. i really don't know shepard's aftermarket so couldn't even offer an opinion on the prices anyway.
i'd like to not see prices challenged here, particularly if you don't intend to buy.
i think you are dead right about the issue of negotiating streetgraff - i've sold a few things via the forum and whilst i'd like to think i've not overpriced anything in the first place (and you seem to validate your prices here), i've ended up selling generally for an amount less than the original posted price. everyone loves to get a good deal, so kudos to you for acknowledging this in your post.
sorry you've had a bit of a rough ride here - i think that people that do contribute to this board regularly do tend to be quite passionate about it and first post sales threads generally can get a little bit of a frosty reception. hopefully you understand that this mainly due to the people who frequent the forum not wanting artchival to descend into a buying and selling forum primarily, which is what has happend to a few others out there.
anyway, you're very welcome to sell, contribute, whatever and however you choose. hopefully you stick around and put something into some of the other discussion threads too whilst you are here.

StreetGRaff, do what you may, your welcome, members remember: THIS IS AN ART FORUM,... LOL, funny how some of these clowns take this way too seriously, when your out at the shows, none of them state there forum names because some not all, but most are afraid to get exposed as resellers, flippers or what have nots As for the bunch complaining about prices, if you put them too low, they would cry that your affecting the value of there collection an so forth, place it too high and here you go with the flipper this and that word treatment. The truth is, any and everyone tends to be a bit territorial when it comes to art especially, no matter, I have never forgotten that the artist makes art for the world to enjoy not just for me to buy. With that said, say what you may about me because: I buy, I resell, I flip, I hoard and I even tend to give shit away here and there, but lets put my living room wall against yours and see where we at: Im always interested in buying from someone who needs to sell, not looking to sell....lol

I also see this forum as a place where people mainly share information and their excitement for art, where they do not see art as investment or commodity in the first place. I am not sure where all the haters lurk that got mentioned. Also paranoia should better be treated, it cannot be healthy.
