I've looked at it a few times and ... well I'd not be on the yes list for this one. It's good that it exists.. poor however that so many are on the 'yes i got one but now wish to sell it on' list. but hey - as we all know - each to their own. given it's lack of publicity I'd be keen to hear if those who did get one... knew what it'd look like pre going on said list ? buying work like this blind - is something I'd be intrigued by. not all that glitters...

It wasn't bought blind. Images were received first.
FWIW, I think it's almost the definitive Emperor's new clothes. It gives me heartburn just thinking about it. It's a picture of the floor, with overspray on it. A by product of a process. Essentially, the spall.
I was speaking with a friend recently about the chap who did the stuff with the fire extinguishers and the custard pies. After a couple of hours and several beers I understood his position, to the point of being intrigued enough to consider getting a piece myself. This, this 'work', however, is an afterthought.
Someone will probably point me in the direction of an artist whose whole oeuvre is waste, and that's fine but this is not art. It's an accident. It might be a visually pleasing accident (I don't think so, but some might). And I get the 'it's made by an artist, ergo it's art' argument, but counter that with the 'fuck off, how daft do you think I am' position.
Bloody awful, typing on an iPad....

I'm taking the liberty of continuing this discussion in the Tauba Auerbach main thread.
Good luck on your sale.
