I'm very excited to be exhibiting some new work by Crystal Wagner soon at the ArtMrkt San Francisco fair and was surprised to see she doesn't have a thread here on Artchival, so, figured I'd start one!
Crystal's gotten some great internet-love the past year both on Arrested Motion - arrestedmotion.com/2012/11/previews-crystal-wagner-surface-rosemary-berkel-and-harry-l-crisp-ii-museum/ - and on Juxtapoz - www.juxtapoz.com/current/crystal-wagner-is-layered - so you may have seen her work there.
If you're not familiar, Crystal is best known for her massive installations which utilize a variety of printing methods (intaglio etchings, relief prints, screen prints) alongside cut paper and plastic. She received her MFA at The University of Tennessee in 2008 and is currently Assistant Professor of Art at Georgia College.
Crystal has participated in several notable residencies including a month-long Artist-in-Residency in Poznañ, Poland (2006), a residency at the Joshua Tree National Park Residency (2008), and the Betsy Worden Memorial Artist Residency from the Knoxville Arts and Culture Alliance (2009). In 2010 Crystal was accepted into a residency at Anchor Graphics Artist Residency, Columbia College, Chicago.
