Thanks for all the posts. I did not expect to get any support on this forum based on Svenmans reputation here. I fully expect to be banned from here because the moderators cannot believe that Sven would do such a thing, but you have to face up to the fact that he has. There are no facts to face. Its all speculation, I'm surprised everyone jumped so quick to back one side. Let the involved parties handle it privately. Because we've used your same logic, which itself suggests a "side" if you followed it. Sven has been silent here, following your advice, apparently until now as the chain has continued, with others piling on. Glad to see Sven piping in. He has very good judgments as a collector, and I'm on this forum to learn from others with a thoughtful POV and who have been collecting longer than me. Accordingly, I would expect him to make a smart trade, and knowing that I wouldn't trust myself to trade with him because it'd be more than likely his benefit of the bargain would've exceeded mine. Like I said, the thread read like buyer's remorse to me. Weezy

If you troll me one more time I will ban you. Really? Do you not think that that would be an abuse of your position? In this situation it would be appropriate, if you have a problem, to refer the matter to other moderators, as anyone else would have to. It would not be appropriate to take a unilateral decision to ban someone because they make you uncomfortable. Just one question. You say you never looked at the back of the print. How is that possible? It most likely arrived rolled, and the you unrolled it and framed it or put in a portfolio. Then you removed from frame/portfolio and rolled it again, to ship. So, how did you not see the back? For me, this is the confusing part.

I think they have both stated their position many times over for all to see. Since it was between them, no one but them will know the truth. What's the point of bringing it up over and over again, especially since the transaction occurred on another forum (even that thread was brought to a close over there). This forum was not created for people to discuss their private disputes ad nauseum. I think grinreaper has more than warned anyone who cares who will deal with sven in the future with his side of the story many times over.

If you paid up for the restoring as you keep saying you would but haven't, all this would go away. Beggars belief why you wont do the decent thing! Banning me won't make your mistake go away either.

Only I guess the lady does not like getting dodgy damaged prints, hence this big hoo hah!

Grinreaper, this will be your last warning in regards to this subject. I don't know how they do things on other forums, but I personally have tired of this topic. As I said before, you have both stated your positions on a transaction that did not even take place on this forum. I can't have this forum become a place where people handle their disputes in public. Please take your argument back to PM or to court. I think you have more than had your chance to have you say and now are just piling on comments. You have obviously decided not to contribute to this forum on any other topic already with your multiple name changes and deleting all previous posts about anything else.

I have no comments on this topic except that sleepboy has always been fair and evenhanded as a moderator of the forum. I feel that if people have issues regarding a transaction on an other forum they should not bring it to the Artchival, for the most part this place has been bicker free and I like it that way. If the transaction occurred here that would be different. my 2 cents,

I agree with Oldfart on all his points, and even I did not agree with his points I would say I did because he has the best name on the forum...

I hear you and abide by your rules. I agree that there is no sense in piling on further comments anymore. As for multiple name changes, my name has always been Grin Reaper. As for deleting other posts, I can't answer that as that would prolong this dispute.

My 10 year-old son got randomly plucked out of school by a casting director the other day and invited to audition for a lead role in Tomas 'Let the Right One In' and 'Tinker, Soldier, Sailor, Spy' Alfredson's next movie. How crazy is that?

Thanks all. He's taking it in his stride but I know that once he's got a camera and lights on him he'll be like a rabbit in headlights. All good fun though and it brings the dream of being a well looked after retiree (with a healthy art collection) one step closer!

Very cool, Victor. Take him to see Moonrise Kingdom and have him absorb the talents of another actor his age (Jared Gilman) in what is such a charming, nostalgic, and downright amazing performance. And you'll also get to see the best film of the year thus far as a bonus.

I'm painting my guest bedroom and powder room. Trying to get creative and artsy with it, but not so much so I can't put paintings up. Very stressful and a ton of work. But I will have at least two full walls for art in the bedroom. Although that means better furniture and drapes...
I bought antique white, silver spraypaint and pearlescent white. Same colors as my master bedroom. Saw David Beckham and his kids in the shop where I bought the paint. Wondered that he seemed to be doing his own decorating...
Any ideas for the room out there, in terms of col patterns you've seen.

If you did jewel tones, you could have lots of airy sheer drapes and piles of pillows.

does anyone know of any architectural publications or blogs in the USA? I'm aware of all the major UK publications but wondered if any archival members are architects in the USA that may be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks!
