Lowered prices on all pieces, all below cost and bargains to be honest.

Then it obviously makes sense, I didn´t catch it at first but can see it now you mention it.
I´ve seen shows though where the pieces are arranged like this, it usually doesn´t do the pieces any justice. Unless they are utter crap, then they can arrange like they want, it´s still crap.

I am slowly starting to appreciate the work of Berens, this is some of the stronger work I have seen from him.
One thing though, I will never understand this way of arranging the pieces in a show. I simply cannot focus on the individual piece which is a shame cause the pieces look very lovely.

Good call sleepboy, there should be. One of the most dedicated artists, and such a nice fellow. There´s a certain feeling of eternal peace in his work, combined with his sense for details creates a beautiful result. A video that was made the last time he exhibited at UP. He is currently having another show there. My piece which I love!

Upside Downers by Ryan Bubnis Didn´t think I would make more purchases this year, but I love Ryan´s work and this was a good chance to get a strong piece by him.

Hi highbrow,
Yes, the piece came unframed. I had it send to the framer in UK that I use, he never fails to impress me.
I just have to frame my pieces, the right framejob just gives them that extra edge which completes it for me. Pleae post pictures once your Frizzell is framed.

Cheers highbrow, your piece is stunning as well and the Fairey ain´t too bad either.
In fact there are several pieces already in this thread that I love. The Berens and Doyle from commandax, the Yamamoto from sleepboy are all very special. droow2´s Thielke is awesome also.

Excellent thread! My 3 favorites purchased from this year: This one might need a little explaining. The painter is a danish artist called Poul Pava, I remember loving his work as a kid and this year I realised my dream of owning a painting by him. Best experience was “discovering“ this scene, and realise how many good people there are around. Biggest dissapointment would be, that I am still studying and not being able to keep all pieces I have, if I want to buy new pieces. Not always fun parting with them, but I am very happy with the direction my collection have taken. Rising star would definetely be Nate Frizzell who I think produced an amazing show with LeBasse. Elbow-Toe is another one who I believe could go big. Show of the year is difficult as I don´t really attend shows, we don´t have a lot of them here in Copenhagen. But I must say that Adam Neate´s show at Elms looked to be in a league of it´s own, very innovative, amazing visions and so beautiful.

May be so, but you gotta start somewhere. Even wise, almighty people like yourself started out somehere. To each his own and all that, right? Not sure that the sarcastic reply is warranted really but each to their own. The best thing about roa is that his work only really works on the street. The drawings and canvasses I've seen have just been average to poor representations of animals which devoid of the scale and presence they have on the street look pretty weak.. And fairey is a poor comparison, not only due to the vast difference in style, but due to him not having been interesting let alone amazing for years. It was more like a tongue in cheek comment, nothing more. About Roa, I wasn´t refering to his work on canvas or paper, but what I´ve seen from his streetwork which the thread also refers to. I wouldn´t compare him to Fairey either, not at all. Totally different subjectmatters and very different style. Should I compare Roa to someone else it would be Ericailcane or Blu. I think Roa´s work posses a certain stroke of genius, it makes me wanna look at it and for a long time. Just like Blu and Ericailcane. I feel that streetart lacks originality in general and I definetely think that Roa brings something new to the scene, and it´s very, very good on top.
