Some beautiful pieces there. Nice to see a different "style" of collector on the boards. I take it you're from the UK? Love the Holly Thoburn - been watching her for awhile now. You've amassed quite the collection after only 8 months! Hey Stephen, thanks for your compliment, appreciate it. I know my taste is different compared to a lot of the other collections here, but we do have a thing in common and that´s what matters. I am actually from Denmark, but I guess I am mostly into the "British" scene, so your guess wasn´t far off. And Denmark isn´t very big (5.5 million citizens), so I don´t speak loud about my nationality (just did). ;D I do have other pieces though, also a couple of Adam Smith paintings which I am very thrilled with, I really like Adam´s work. Funny that you mention Holly, I actually found her work earlier this year, asked for a huge commision (the one I posted) and I was amazed with the result. I was so amazed that I showed her work to Frankie at Campbarbossa, he instantly started to represent her and since then she has gotten a lot of attention which is deserved imo. I admire the collections on this board, a lot of beautiful work. It´s funny to observe the difference between the American and the English style. American painters seems to focus much more on the motive, with the British artists is so obvious that a lot of them has the streetfeel in their work.

Thanks Svenman, always nice to get compliments for the things you collect. I have only been collecting for a 8 months or so, so obviously my collection is nothing compared with some of the one´s on this board. But I am happy with it, there´s not a piece in it I have regrets about and I love to look at the works each day here in my home in Copenhagen. I would love to add a Greg Simkins piece though, only problem... Gf doesn´t like it.

I'm not denying their talent, just the subject matter is not to my taste. And I didn´t say that you were... Anyway, art is such a complex thing, sometimes it´s hard to say what it is about the art that you like, sometimes it´s the colours, sometimes the composition and sometimes the subject matters. When all those things add up in a piece, that´s when I go wouw! Herakut does that to me a lot, along with my new Ian Francis which will arrive in a matter of time. ;D

I was just talking about size of pieces in general, but it seems like it had no offers so far, so the price might be slightly of.
Anyway, if I had to spend 26k on a piece, there would be a couple of artists I would look at before Kawasaki.
Great piece though...

Quite an offer, having seen Adam´s work in the flesh I can only say that this would be a bargain!

Would love a piece by Herbert Baglione, know he has a show at Laz at the moment, but financially it´s not the right time.
Next year for sure!

Allthough I like some of Kawasaki´s work I know absolutely nothing about the goingrates on her OG´s, what would a suitable price on this be?
Seems like a lot of money for such a small piece compared to what 26k could get you.

Ian uses both acrylics and oil as well as a special transfer process (in some paintings), pen and ink and sometimes graphite. ;D

Hey Walt, I have asked myself that question many times and decided to find out.
There´s a video with Jason (he is a very cool guy by the way, very down to earth), gives you an insight of his technique and thoughts.

Considering parting with my Thielke piece, it looks amazing in the flesh. All I want is cost, it´s a beautiful piece but with new stuff coming in, I have to move a piece or two. The piece measures 23 x 30 2000 + shipping

I recently discovered Adam´s work by coincidence, I instantly fell for it and got myself a couple of pieces. Not only is his prices affordable, but on top of that he is a top bloke to deal with. Check out his site: www.smithmada.com/These are the pieces I bought from Adam, and for a steal if you ask me. Looks amazing in the flesh.

Thanks guys, obviously I am pretty stoked about getting a piece from Josh, luckily I had a past with OKOK which secured me the piece. I wrote Josh about it (he is such an amazing artist, not because of his obvious skills, but because he takes his time and he is one hell of a guy) and here´s what he had to say about this iconic piece: "The painting was inspired by a well known Native American story called "Raven steals the light", basically the raven steals teh sun from an old man and while flying away he drops it on the world, giving it light. My spin on this was the raven stealing the light away from humans, notice the bulb is an old fashioned non environmentally friendly bulb. Though the painting could be interpreted in many ways that is the kernel of the idea. The rising waters are a result from using inefficient technology. It was also an excuse to get a bear, octopus, and a raccoon in the same painting. I also wanted to punch up the color in this painting so I repainted the blue of the water about four times until I got it right. This is also the first panting where I decided to paint the water line , (thin turquoise line) I also wanted to increase the painterly brushwork I had so much fun painting the bear's fur under the water giving it motion. Here is a link to a version of the story. www.northwest-art.com/NorthwestArt/WebPages/StoriesRavenStealstheLight.htm
