"Anyway, write it up anyhow you want to, make it look like LAII's looking for a gravy train to ride, enjoy your pieces you bought and keep thinking you are an intellectual, when in reality you are a closet racist! Goodbye!" WOW, talk about throwing around a word with no regard for the weight it has, Goodbye indeed! There is no indication in anything that Sven said to call him a racist, where the heck did that come from?! Well said. People love to throw that word around these days and have no idea what it means, just that it's PC enough to scream it at somebody when you have no real point to make.

Yeah this was a kick ass show/time. I was there as well and bought some old VHS off E-bay with this tiny clip on it for a trip down memory lane. Not bad for 10 bucks... I remember that Sorayama show as well. This was also the first place I saw Schorr's work. Thanks

Here is a short clip from the high point of Lowbrow. The scene and man that kicked it all in the ass, Robert Williams. This is from 1990 at the Tamera Bane Gallery on Melrose in Hollywood.

Looks like Williams is calling his work "Conceptual Realism" now. I could go with that. I guess I'm one of the few left who don't really mind the Lobrow" moniker. I guess thats where it all started for me when I read Williams middle finger to the establishment, "Zombie Mystery Paintings". I heve yet to see anything these days that even comes close to that Balls out style.

Looked through all 70 pages of this thread ( many fine works were purchased here ). _________________________________ A big congratulations to both of these collectors: Reply #805 on page 54 by sketchv " Zombie Mystery Painting Number 11, The Seduction " by Robert Williams. WOW ! What a great painting to have in your collection ! Thanks! It is my baby, I'd never thought I'd own a actual painting.

As part of the Mr Bitchin premiere at MOCA, Robert Williams,Jeffrey Deitch,Meg Linton, and Jim Shaw participate in a panel moderated by Mat Gleason. Great info! How will Deitch handle the Lowbrow/Juxtapoz factor? Watch and see!

how much for one of the smaller bronzes i saw at northridge? I was asking about those as well. The really nice owner of Gentle Giant (can't remember his name) put me in touch with Shifrazi and they quoted me 25 thousand.
