Anyone see the Nara show at the Baltic (UK)? It's closing this this weekend I think. I so wish I could have gone. I'm thinking about going to the NY show next year.

Yes I went along with Kinsey to the opening party as it was the night before Kinseys solo show opened in the UK.
I really enjoyed it, so different to what I am used to. The one frustration I had was they never let you take pictures in the Baltic so I never took my camera.....the opening party was the only time you ARE allowed to take pictures & Nara was there with some of his army of assistants.

speaking of Nara (from the other thread)... does anyone have info on this show? is it worth taking a long road trip out? trying to get something somewhat affordable would be cool (like a print)

Nara has a big retrospective coming up in NY and they are putting up a couple Nara dog sculptures up. See the mock up below. It might look like that big ceramic piece seen above too. Also, he will be working on those art structures he's famous for - all available for the public to see! Posted some details here.

Naragasm! So lucky you could attend the exhibition. I just watch the video of his interview at Artsociety, looks like a very nice exhibition to know him even more. Even He showed his early paintings, that very different than usual one, never saw that before.
