There are some great collections posted here, so I thought to add a few of a collection I started back in '95. After working with Mark Ryden, the Claytons, Charles Burns and over 200 artists at that point in my career, I found it important to start supporting the fine art movement of the day. Now, there is nothing better than discovering, researching and experiencing the art and the artists that forge new ground. It is my hopes to initiate a museum that celebrates the graphic narrative arts, pervasive arts, Low Brow Culture and the fine arts in general. This post features a few pieces from the art collection in the hopes of inspiring dialogue and sharing a passion that continually expands. More information about the museum will be available soon, and feel free to give me a shout if you are interested in being a part of this endeavor. Kind thanks for looking. Enjoy. the Clayton Brothers : Rob Clayton : Christian Clayton : This will help them Henry Darger : One sided Painting : Christian Northeast Shag Cathie Bleck : Evolution Cathie Bleck : Mother Nature's Son II Jeff Soto : Rusty Swingset : Turning in Circles : Commission Jeff Soto : the Duel Joe Sorren : Anthologia Joe Sorren : Los Luchadores // commission Jonathan Viner : A Discerning Youngster // commission Ryan Wallace : Heaven and Hell // commission Esther Pearl Watson : Sailor Girls Gary Taxali : Gettin Real // commission Joel Nakamura : Passion // commission Ray Caesar : the Messenger Douglas Fraser : Rings around Uranus Tim Biskup // commission Anthony Lister : 4 Drawings : (crapola pic) Miguel Covarrubias : Signed Lithograph Daniel Johnston : Suiside (featured in the movie) Tim Hussey : Humana Leslie Ditto : Dirty Pink Desire

You certainly have some spectacular paintings that would be greatly enjoyed in a museum. I would personally have an incredibly hard time letting go of my paintings to live elsewhere , but I guess people do it all the time. Three months is all I could possibly stand, but it felt good sharing it for others to enjoy and I would recommend the experience. Thanks for sharing.

He's gonna live at the museum LOL. Actually I think it will be in a permanent collection right? What can I say Mark. Simply amazing. To think this is probably only a small part of what you have. You win, I should quit right now haha. Love the Viner, the Soto, the Sorrens are stunning. Thanks so much for sharing, you collection is an inspiration. Keep the photos coming.

Congrats on the AMAZING collection!! anthologia, by joe sorren, was one of those paintings that he worked on over the course of 5-6 months : joe told me he was fed up with it, never really sure about the way it turned out or the emotion it captured and had contemplated destroying it, if no one purchased it : unfortunately, there are many paintings that he has created that fall to the broom handle through the canvas trick :

Shheesh! I guess I should edit more carefully before posting, quoted twice before I even reread that garble. Anyway, the sentiment was that you have an incredible collection, and I don't think I could be as gracious with sharing my collection as to have it permanently displayed elsewhere.

Mark, It's so nice to see you on here and I love the collection. I don't know if there is anyway I can help you with the museum endeavor, but I am here to offer it. Even if it just mean I donate a piece or something like that. You know how to reach me if so. Leslie Ditto

it is a beautiful piece. i'm glad that he didn't attack it! i've read about joe destoying pieces that he's not happy with before. you know how dedicated he is to creating perfection when you hear things like this. i've also read that he's cut canvas pieces down because he has not been happy with the composition. makes me want to go and dig through his rubbish bin in case of finding a gem! funny that the 2 you have posted here were both made into prints - both sure fire classic pieces!

i really dig the cathie blek & the viner commission cathie bleck is one of those artists who has been doing what she has been doin for over 30 years : i think she is recently catching on after all of these years : her work is dimensional, as it is scratchboard, with clays and pigments on board : so she scratches the color away and presto, pretty amazing style, much like woodblock carving or engraving : a classic : viner rocks too, i think he is really freeing up the style and getting tighter on every painting : he is a master at subtle expression :

Hey Mark!
Your Sorrens are very nice - jealous of the 'Anthologia" piece.
That Clayton Bros rules!

Hey Mark, I think you own my all time favorite Sorren. I have never see it before until now and thank you for posting it. I have been a big fan of Sorren ever since I saw an ad in Jux ( I think it was in Jux) for a Sorren show. But that painting in particular really moves and inspires me.

Darger? How did that come about? Unbelievable.
Not familiar w/ Christian Northeast, but looks ALOT like Kilgallen.
Museum worthy work for sure.
