I guess I'll put Guy McKinley in the Street Art section. He often paints on walls, but I believe they're generally interior ones. However, Tristan Manco put him in the "Street Sketchbook," so I guess he's considered to be in that category. By the way, if you're into street art, you really should pick up that book, it's really interesting. Guy lives in Manchester, England and paints (among other things) a series of robot girls with anti-gravity heads. For more on Guy and links to his various web presences, you can go to my blog: commandax.blogspot.com/2008/02/art-appreciation-guy-mckinley.htmlHe also does great things with hand-drawn text, combining elements of graffiti style with an attention to detail reminiscent of the days of document engraving. This is the new direction Guy is taking his robot girls: the Dead Japanese Ghost Girl Warriors. I can't wait to see more of these, they're very cool.

Here's a note from Guy about an event taking place tomorrow in Manchester that will be featuring his newest creations, the Dead Japanese Ghost Girl Warriors. Anyone in the area should go check it out! I have a new show taking place in Manchester on the 2nd of May as part of the opening of the Northwest's flagship Carhartt Store.
The show is called Black Rust and features huge A0 giclee prints of my pieces involving my newest creations, the Dead Japanese Ghost Girl Warriors. They are a little bit darker than my usual stuff, but they still have some lovely animals involved, there are some wolves and birds and so on, just with little super tough ghost girls!
They are all going to be made into smaller giclees available from me direct, the week after the launch, so if you come down and like what you see, let me know. If however you can't make it, check out my flikr/blog next week for shots of opening and the other work on show.
If you are interested in seeing them, it's free entry, free beers and maybe even some free Carhartt gear! For details read the attached flyer and head down there it would be great to see you.
