omg! i don't know what to make of that. if its endorsed by the artists, then great, but i seriously doubt it is. hirst will no doubt be sending in the dogs. just emailed a question over to them and it got bounced back. so perhaps the dogs have already pounced.

Our entire collection was picked up this morning to be shipped to California and I'm thinking our walls are way too white. I'm totally bummed - It will be at least four months until I see our collection again.

I'm also thinking that it is so weird that something that takes years to collect can fit into 4 crates and a giant bin and disappear in under 2 hours. If I wouldn't loose my security deposit I'd be drawing on the walls right now.

Wow, things have changed when Iz the Wiz gets a lengthy career survey obituary in the Art & Design section of The New York Times. Which brings you such amusing sentences as, "Mr. Martin mounted an intensive throw-up campaign on the A line." Iz the Wiz sought fame, and found it, but not on gallery walls. His work appeared on the old dusty brown subway cars known as coal mines, and their replacements, called ding dongs for the bell tone that chimes when the doors close. Painting one of those, end to end, Mr. Martin once said, “was like sex in a can.”

I'm thinking only of FAME which is sure to be the artistic highlight of the year for me.
End of summer in southern Italy surrounded by great art. both indoors and out, will be hard to beat.

Yeah, i'm going and have my room in Grottaglie booked already. I'm going to inter-rail across Europe for two weeks before arriving down there too...
Sorry, missed the dedicated thread, still new to the forum...

Sorry, missed the dedicated thread, still new to the forum... wow, that's so nice. i wish i could attend. make sure you take lots of pics. no worries on the thread, it's more of an organizational thing. i've been trying to cross link threads more often. i often see lots of good info, pics, or discussion in showthreads that just disappear forever when the show is over so try to link more crosslink to the artist threads and other threads.

My artist friend is pretty drained and is in need of an energy re-charge. So a fan/client of hers invited us to her home in Santorini - which is close enough to where I really want to go to... I don't know if I should tag along, but we are kind of in synch, it seems... but then I wouldn't be able to buy the OG I was planning on buying... and SDCC is around the corner...

It amazes me sometimes how many artists that basically are stuck in one style and method of working get so much attention, but the ones that push themselves and make sure each show raises a few levels seem to get little press.

it's not easy to make art for a living expansion of one's style is a slow, gradual process, . . . I think if your work changes too quickly, it's difficult to develope any kind of following.
