Saw one Banksy piece in New Orleans. A shame the others have been removed with the intent to sell on.

it's not easy to make art for a living expansion of one's style is a slow, gradual process, . . . I think if your work changes too quickly, it's difficult to develope any kind of following. I agree, its like that in the music scene as well. I have seen so many bands get dropped by fans because they changed a bit. My post a few messages back makes it look like any artist that does the same thing is bad, my main concern is those that are hindered by their lack of ability and do the same things over and over because thats all they can do. Not pushing themselves to further their skills to get better. You have mad skills, and I am pretty sure a fanbase that will follow you to anything new you want to do.

It amazes me sometimes how many artists that basically are stuck in one style and method of working get so much attention, but the ones that push themselves and make sure each show raises a few levels seem to get little press. I agree except, I don't like complete changes in style. I like them to develop a signature way/themes to paint then they can evolve from there. If an artist is all over the place, it makes me nervous for some reason.

Weird - it was the toys that convinced me to go to SDCC, but now... it's mostly about the art...

If someone likes a band or an artist for a particular album/style which the band then move on from, is it not better that fans use their selective judgement when deciding to carrying on spending their hard earned money on them? What's far worse are the slavish followers of bands who will buy any old crap that is released, regardless of quality.

Pricing pieces is always so stressful. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't want to charge too little and sell myself short, but I also don't want to charge too much and look ridiculous.

Why does it seem like some of the folks that up-talked Greg Simkins the most are (some wholesale) reselling his stuff right now?

Why do the artists I like the most, have the worst websites as far as image quality goes?
