"Galleries" that charge artists an application fee to submit work = not cool.

Saw the Warrington Colescott retrospective at the Milwaukee Art Museum yesterday. How has he escaped my notice for so long?

I am wondering where the extra wood, cigar boxes, paintings, crates and the rest of David Choong Lee's installation is going to go?
Also, I've never felt so small in the gallery before.

Are any members going to Art San Diego this week? I'm thinking of going down for the day and checking out the Viva La Revolucion. artsandiego-fair.com/

The hanging of one painting generally necessitates the moving of 6.

The hanging of one painting generally necessitates the moving of 6. Oh, god, seriously. We rearranged furniture the other day which led to about 10 hours of art hanging for me...and then I framed 7 pieces last week and my girl just bought another, so, I get to do it all again this weekend. Not looking forward to it at all, except, I kinda like it.

I have been thinking after having a good browse at all members Outstanding and Amazing collections is how the heck do you all manage to buy and pay for these pieces?? just buying one artist original would max my C-card up in one swoop also if my wife knew she would pack my bags for me and leave them on the front lawn for when i got home from work Lol. I have very large and very greens eyes right now, you sure are lucky people. just know when to buy and what to purchase, and buy pretty much what you like not for the value but the fact you like it. i mean i have a marion peck original that i bought but not many others bought because it wasnt in her signature style, but i bought it cause well, its pretty nice, and its a marion peck. also ask the artist themselves as well.

Sticking with the current theme, I'm thinking about rearranging a whole room full of paintings. It's almost right but somehow I think it could be better. If I ever finish the final room in my house that would probably help matters greatly.

Saw a trailer for this at I'm Still Here the other night. Looks like it could be very good.

There is a great art festival going on in my town with nearly every store displaying an artist in their storefronts but the weather has just been pure blah. And I haven't gotten out to see so much of the works. Please be sunny for the weekend

I am sort of toying with the idea of going to Southern California to celebrate my birthday. Planning on seeing some art galleries. But still unsure since I don't deal with traffic well.

Just declined a very gracious offer from a gallery for a piece from an artist I have had an eye on for a long time, but it is just not the moment right now. I just hope I won't regret that decision.

Nicoletta Ceccoli, and this might have been the last occasion. I will go for the hand-embellished prints from Virtu instead, as there are 2 more shows this year where I am on the waiting list and I have to choose wisely (and I am just not a wise old guy like highbrow ).
