Just checked her out and the Menagerie series is lovely. And her rendering of humans in her other work is beautiful too, very emotive.

looks like I may be spending money I shouldn't right now but sometimes you can't let things slip through your hands.

working on doing prints inhouse. Fun process. Luckily my day job includes access to a really high end printer. purchased some awesome watercolor paper thanks to a referral from Matt Dangler. will post results up if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the Jien tip.
Where's Berens showing? It's rare to get to see his work in LA. Hope it's not a portrait, which has been on my collectors' list for a long time and I'll be so bummed not to have at least aggressively pursued based on ignorance.

Well, it's framed and somewhat of an open edition and very expensive. All those things, break the rules of supply and demand. Artists often complain about the scalpers, but in all honesty I think that in many cases they should be thanking them, because it's because of the scalpers that her work sells out in mere seconds and keeps demand "high," and people want what they can't have so that's how you sell out of stuff. Plus, I feel she has been flooding the market as of late with her prints (if you inc. gallery releases), so unless her fan base continues to explode it will be hard to sustain the path she is on. I am not that surprised that Charlotte is still up on Audrey's website. I was only amazed that an ebay seller listed it for $1550 when it is still available from Audrey at a reasonable price. Honestly, I cannot complain too much about people listing prints on ebay as I did purchase a few on there prior to really getting into collecting-I realize that I bought things I wouldn't buy now largely because I was uneducated; I truly did not think I could ever afford an original and I thought that (sorry in advance to the galleries I have purchased from galleries were snobby places only selling to the wealthy. But without that initial channel I wouldn't be here.
