So my resolution to buy no prints in 2012 is about to go down the drain already in the first week with Tiny Showcase releasing that awesome Rachell Sumpter print and 1xRun that equally awesome Allison Sommers print. Damn. I have not purchased them yet, as they are time limited editions, so I can still try to resist.

Can I join this? I said the same, it's only the 6th and I have bought three prints with plans to get the Nagel from 1xRun. I could have bought more, but these ones are special, and I would regret not picking them up. Well that's what I am telling myself anyway.

I'd like to join as well please. Already purchased the Rachell Sumpter and have received a Matt Dangler and a Joe Ledbetter. How did it all go so wrong so quickly?

Thanks for those low pro. I really want to get to that Keith Haring exhibit. Always been a fan. He was one of the first artists I became aware of when I was young. Obviously I appreciate his stuff a little differently these days.

^ saw her stuff and was in talks with her awhile back. she is actually from right around the corner from where I live in Philadelphia. some of the works are definitely a great commentary on today's culture and the internet. i toyed with the idea of grabbing something due to the affordability but I just couldn't come to grips with how a tapestry would look being tacked on the wall with the rest of the art I have on display. maybe they need framed or something. either way she definitely grabs some attention from the viewer whether they like the subject matter or not.

Can someone talk to me a bit about the process of commissioning a piece of art? I'm thinking of getting a piece done from a lesser known artist but I'm not really sure how the process works.
Do I just pitch a general idea or theme for a piece at the artist and let them run with it? Do you usually see a concept sketch before the painting process starts or do you just go blind faith? If someone who has gone through it a couple times could just give me a flowchart type idea of how it's worked for them in the past that would really help me out!
Thanks

I'm thinking I'd like to see a permanent hiatus on artists using the images of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell's soup cans. That food has been chewed at least a couple thousand times. It's time to swallow already. Also thinking about how amazing Jeremy Geddes is after reading the article in Juxtapose last night. Not to mention I'm thinking I've love to get back to the Northeast this summer so I can hit the Keith Haring exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. Finally, I'm wondering how many people - if any - will successfully traverse the globe to complete Hirst's spot challenge. So basically, I'm scatter-brained as always!

This is probably a strange one and will probably get lost in the melee of posts but if anyone knows any artists on here can I ask a small favour. Not quite as compelling as the Wall of Stache but I have a fascination with Hares and am looking for sketches of Hares or of Hare heads. I have one on the way from David Bray and am hoping for some more to fill a section of wall. Bizarre I know but I'm fascinated by their spirit and wildness. They also have associations with old English magick which I find fascinating. Anyway if anyone can help, feels the need please let me know. Thanks.

I hope my print ban buddies are holding out better than me...for me it's 3 prints already this year (but they were $50 or less each, so it could have been worse). Got the Rachell Sumpter print from Tiny Showcase today, and it is beautiful (and larger than I thought).

I want the Amy Sol print. Does it count if my husband buys it as a Valentines day gift Thinking we need an official thread.

Attended the Outsider Art Fair in NYC yesterday. Really amazing! Saw a Darger piece in person for the first time. Many other great artists that I was seeing and learning about for the first time as well. Very glad I went.
