So Liner has the New York show I hope the LA Show happens first so the prices don't sky rocket...BTW had a horrible time dealing with a NY Gallery this weekend, was treated rudely and they were obnoxious for the record it was not the Liner gallery, but because of previous interactions I have sworn off NYC galleries for the time being and will just with my new years art resolution At Joshua Liner: Candice Tripp November 28 to December 23, 2009 Hey Evilchoy, just saw this post by you from a bit back. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with a NYC gallery. I have had previous experiences myself so I know where you are coming from. I will say that I try to give the best service possible here and treat people how I would like to be treated. That being said if you want to swear off the NYC galleries I will chalk this up to a few bad apples spoiling the bunch. Regarding the Candice Tripp post. I can't help but infer from your statement that we will be raising Candice's prices to the level where they will have "sky rocket"(ed). This is definitely not the case. I have always done my best to keep the prices low and reasonable. Some artists are very firm on their pricing and they set them. I always give my input and have had disagreements where I feel the prices are too high but in the end I can only advise them so much. I think with the way things are today anyone making a serious price increase is doing themselves a disservice. Candice will have a solo exhibit of all new works here in November, she will have one new painting in our August group exhibit alongside some brand new artists to the gallery as well as some familiar faces. - Josh

Yes Candice really can use the negative space quite well! I am glad to help bring some people from your side of the pond over to the gallery. In addition to the Candice & Chloe we also are showing James Roper as well as Stanley Donwood. Stanley will be in the group show (he is often referred to as the sixth member of Radiohead and has done all the almost all their album covers and artwork) as will SUB (Tony Curanaj). Many of these artists will be showing for the first time with the gallery next month, most will then have solos later this year (Hecox, Hirata, McLennan, Tripp) or in 2010 (Kinsey, Simkins, Rocha, Hardgrave, Barber, Hultberg, Ji, Bozic, Louie, Lansdowne - Sorren & Bergeron for a two person show in March) and some we are discussing 2011 (which just sounds crazy to me now). Anyway looking forward to all of these shows. I have seen a few of Candice's other pieces (sorry got off track for a second) for the solo in November. I think people will really enjoy her new work.

Wow, those detailed shots make them look a lot better. I like the mushroom girl and the bear with television eyes. By the way, the showthread for this show is here.

yea, i swung by to see josh and say hi since i was in town and found myself really liking these. The larger full images don't do the painting justice as you can see in the incredible detail shots by carmichael. I'm def a new fan, would have bought one if the wife didn't fall in love with this killer Camille Rose Garcia piece that was hanging in his office. The pic josh has online looks actually nothing like the piece in person..

Candice has a piece here: (R)Evolution of Urban Art by Warrington Museum & Art Gallery Urban Art has its origins in street graffiti, spray-paint and stencils, but now it can also be seen on canvas and limited edition prints, making it a mainstream movement. This exhibition explores how Urban Art references the history of art. Through observation, research and discussion with some of the artists, similarities in styles and ideals are highlighted. (R)Evolution of Urban Art brings together work from 15 internationally acclaimed artists: Banksy, Blek le Rat, Gavin Turk, Adam Neate, David Choe, Faile, Lorraine Robbins, Antony Micallef, Ron English, José Parlá, Elbow-toe, Sam Taylor-Wood, Candice Tripp, Swoon and Takashi Murakami. museum.warrington.gov.uk/exhibitions/

WOW. Looks beautiful. I'm intrigued by the subject. Did she change the settings of her paintings? I remember her being very generous with the empty space on the canvas...
