Here is the detailed press release for the new exhibition and US launch for the boxed book/print set...
Beverly Hills, CA. February 5th – Internationally acclaimed British jewelry designer, Stephen Webster and leading urban contemporary artist, D*Face present One Man and His Dog.
This juxtaposition of the world of fine jewelry and street art will bring together two of Britain’s most prolific design talents to celebrate the US launch of the limited edition box set for The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog, including a book signing at Stephen Webster’s Beverly Hills flagship boutique and gallery.
The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog reflects the incredible body of work that D*Face has built over the years as a street artist, fine artist and designer. The book shows the evolution of the artist to date, encompassing the fascinating layers and ideas in his work including references to Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Haring along with advertising iconography, comic-book superheroes, money, punk-rock, graffiti and skate boarding. With previously unseen images of D*Face’s working process and studio, as well as firsthand anecdotes, and the stories behind his extraordinary work, this long awaited monograph provides an insider’s view of one of Britain’s most important urban artists.
In celebration of the US launch of The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog, Webster has designed a limited edition dog tag pendant which embodies these two long time friend’s signature styles. Available in four color ways: anthracite, purple, red, and green; the pendant features D*Face’s iconic wing motif which Webster has translated into an innovative and expertly crafted piece of jewelry. These pendants will be a limited edition of 100 available exclusively at Stephen Webster Beverly Hills, and come specially packaged in a box designed and created by D*Face.
Also on display in Webster’s in-store gallery during these events will be an exhibition of D*Face’s latest works including customized vintage army helmets, along with small and large scale paintings all characterizing his widely recognized aPOPcalyptic style which splices pop art with the fragility of life. The exhibition will run through March 4th, 2014.
February 5th – Stephen Webster and D*Face will host a book signing for The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog open to the public at Webster’s US Flagship from 5-8pm. Both the limited edition box set as well as the standard edition book will be available on the evening.
