I was walking around SF the other day and I happened to walk by this little guy. I wasn't sure if it was an Os Gemeos piece or just someone trying to imitate their style. It's on a business that teaches Capoerira (That Afro-Brazilian art form that combines martial arts and dance) Any opinions on the matter? I thought the nose looked a little off for an Os Gemeos piece, that's why I was suspicious to call it out right. gonetomorrowsf.com/?p=525It's definitely done by Os Gemeos as they did this piece when they did their show at Luggage Store Gallery back in 2003. Also, they did a piece near the well known Clarion Alley before it was being buffed out. Also, well-hidden away from the public is a nice piece somewhere in San Francisco which I won't reveal here.

A teaser snippet of what they are working on. I am really looking forward to this.

They were in Lithuania to track down some relatives recently. Apparently, their grandfather immigrated there from Brazil. Of course, they couldn't resist leaving their mark.

they have an old piece (2003-Girl In Boat) up for grabs at Dreweatts Urban Contemporary Art Auction... not my favorite, but I have heard they are hard to get? sorry if this seems like bad manners (posting links)... promise I do like smilies... just trying to share the info, in case anyone is interested, might be better in another thread? here is the link to the art available: www.dnfa.com/search.asp?view=keyword&keyword=||&noperpage=20&auction=20430&catname=Full%20list%20of%20lotshere is the info on how to bid: www.dnfa.com/auctions.asp?view=saledetails&aucno=20430&avail=1in all seriousness... that art auction is insane, mostly old pieces from Os Gemeos, Banksy, Eelus, Hera, Guy Denning, Hirst, Nick Walker, Micallef, Faile, Eine, etc... but also quite a few new from KGuy, Miss Bugs, Joe Black...

Nothing wrong in posting this. Not sure if everyone feels the same way, but I typically don't like an artist's earlier works... So, this one is not that attractive to me.

agree, this piece doesn't have the vitality (colors) and shading that separates them from other street artists. cool, I feel a bit better now... (posting links... )

dot dot - it's is quite interesting, but for me it looses a lot of what I enjoy in their work which is the overall composition with their crazy world that they've made up. I'm just lost with this...is it a charity piece?

I'm just lost with this...is it a charity piece? it certainly is something unusual. and yes it's a charity work... auction in Brazil for... "OsGemeos The artists performed an intervention on a version of 1m60 sculpture. The custom pieces will be auctioned next Thursday, made, day 24, with proceeds going to the AACD (Assisitência Association for Handicapped Children)." I quite like it (i.e. in passing) - but it doesn't quite rival the work from the other day.

Believe it or not these dudes even once painted a cow. Like one of those godawful ones they put all over various cities.

I think their mural works were even better..I think they didn't have much time to work on the canvas at Retnas studio. Yes, matching jackets...
