Think they may have done one print that came in a nike set, but apart from that its originals all the way I think there was a poster for $.01 a while back of that epic piece they did in San Diego. I saw a print in Estevan Oriol's office, looked old but not sure when it was from. It was on canvas.

Saw that yesterday. A definite strong result, but nothing crazy or undeserving. Their output has become increasingly sparse to say the least in the past year or so. A piece or two at a few group shows a year. And as of Basel, their primary market prices for works of a similar scale were clocking in at $55k, with the particular work not even being that strong and selling without hesitation. The more classic feel to this piece warrants a premium. Clearly, there was some demand. I think these the Twins, almost more than anyone else in this street art movement, justify such lofty numbers.

wonder who bought the piece? that seems high no? I guess it is a bit high actually. They seem to fair well at auctions in general, probably just a result of low supply and demand quotient. But as a whole, I think the street art market is reinflating way too quick from the correction affording during the financial crisis. Sure, the art market is historically more resilient and has proven to rebound quicker statistically than financial markets and such. But some of these auctions results of late have the feeling of a Greenspan era irrational exuberance at play. I could be way off base and these recent super lofty auction results won't serve as another top to the market. Only time will tell, I suppose.

The house is Kelburn Castle in Scotland belonging to the Earl of Glasgow. The twins collaborated with Nunca on the project.

what's the title of it Gamma? I'd like to track it down as well. Thanks! The name of title is just "Os Gemeos" but I believe that the books were sold during the "Vertigem" exhibitions in Brazil from I've read from this book. The FAAP said that it had sold out of the books already, so you've got to dig deeper.

Really couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this last week. I have a much harder time making heads or tails of this one, mainly due to the quality of the piece. The Phillips result from Feb was massive enough, yet the work was fairly large and fairly strong. This is just downright mindboggling. More than anything, I believe these are a result of an entirely new demographic of collectors being exposed to their work with the wise placement of their work in the Contemporary Sales rather than an Urban/Street Art series. It certainly may play into the fact that they've been picked up by an established gallery with no affiliation whatsoever to street art, and thus there is the expectation of a whole new market being opened. Needless to say, there are some folks betting very heavy on the Twins. And while I definitely feel they deserve it, these results, along with a handful of Banksy's recent sales, make me scratch my head and question the sustainability of these numbers. I suppose the people paying this kind of money tend to have wealthy friends who want it, so perhaps it's onwards and upwards. Really impressive, nonetheless.
