Does anyone have any further details?
I am flying out that afternoon and will be attending that evening, with the hopes of making it to the Herakut opening at LeBasse as well. I would love to put some names to faces, so please PM if you'll be attending as well.

- i spoke to a gallery owner last week and he said that top tier collectors are being ignored for this show until the Johnny Depp's and Lance Armstrong's roll through..... -so I would imagine the show file will come at some point for those who inquired.... ec

lol! yeah... - I don't have anything to worry about... as I couldn't afford anything even if I was offered something! I am ok with missing the boat on some artists... as it is bound to happen... -but I have also found that if you play the waiting game, and keep your eyes open... you might get another chance.... -couple examples for me were Parla (completely missed him a few years ago when he took off... -only to buy a nice piece in the middle of last year and then a piece at the end of the year... at much better price levels) and Shep at Deitch I completely passed on and figured I would never buy another piece of his fine art... only to buy 4 pieces after that show! lol...

Johnny Depp likes Os Gemeos? Really? I'd like to see what else on his wall. I know Johnny has a lot of paintings by John Wayne Gacy...

a lot of the works have definitely been shown to people already as a friend of mine sent me a good many shots but asked not to pass them along or I would have posted them here. also, he is the second person to confirm the $140k price point that I initially posted about a few days ago. I would have to agree with the presumption that there may be some manipulation in the fold with sales, etc. should be interesting to see how everything plays out.

They're free to do buisness however they wish, but selling to celebs over legit collectors seems a short sighted way to build hype around the gallery at the expense of the artists.

hey on a lighter note - what with the immense noise regarding both Prism and those who might be offered works over collectors.... I managed to get my hands on a Fermata catalogue today And a fine collection of images notes and drawing it is as well. ...yes it made my day / month.... (small things I know).

How do you know the celebs aren't legit collectors? From what I know, Lance and Seth are extremely passionate about art and have very impressive pieces in their collections.

I probably should have phrased that better. I know they both have nice pieces, but they're not the kind of collections that help artists gain art world recognition outside of their genre.

its a tiering system and unfortunately were at the bottom of this one as prism are the kind of gallery who has access to a lot of high profile clients due to the people who run it so naturally they are going to tap into that first. Unfortunate for us, but true.

The twins are going to be the next dface or mr brainwash!!! I dont think you can put Mr Brainwash & Os Gemeos in the same contest.. no matter how you look @ it.. it just doesn't sound right... after all these guys done in the streets, all the shows they did worldwide, I really am not sure what they would have to do for me to starting thinking they are becoming commercial or "bad" in any way.. their art and style is still unique, and their creativity seem to be endless, so the fact that celebs are buying that work isn't changing that one bit...

Okay, so those are an overview of my photos. As you can tell, there was a TON of work at this show. Big pieces, little pieces, enormous pieces, floor installations, ceiling installations etc. The show was absolutely AWESOME. Tons of people from all over the world. One of the best shows I've been to in a long time. Heck, even the show cards are cool!
The work in the last couple photos was done by their mother according to one of the people from PRISM. Their mom was sitting there at the front desk of the gallery during the opening. Pretty cool to see mom involved!
One side note... the floor installations (the globe-type "heads") were everywhere on the bottom floor. I witnessed some goof completely trip on one and smash into it. Don't think it broke... but jeez! I was tip-toeing around in there... watching my every step.
If you have a chance to go see the show... GO!
