Show was bigger than I thought. Apparently the new space will be Laz's LA space.

I was beyond impressed with this show. The space, their work, they way it was displayed...next level stuff.
To see FAILE'S evolution over the course of a decade was really inspiring. They certainly proved they're one of the masters of the contemporary pop art scene.
With a line wrapped around the block, it was nice to see the enthusiasm back for the boys!

just saw the arrested motion coverage of the new faile mural on the bowery wall. gotta say, i really like it. for me, faile has had some ups and downs. but they're steadfast and completely dedicated. they keep at it, and i respect what they're doing. this mural is winning me back over. good work. arrestedmotion.com/2011/10/streets-faile-mural-on-bowery-houston-part-i/

Well, said Avert (not that I need to be win over). They keep pushing, they keep exploring, they are still trying to do it their way. Sure not every time it's a winner but this one definitely IS for me. The spot, the imaginary they've used, the colors, the scale. Wonderful combo. I am looking forward to the London show. It should be a bit different. I will post pics if someone won't do it before me.

this mural is a grand slam! and the new 'fragmented' direction seems like a good start...curious to see how it evolves to say the least. some of those portraits are Captivating (bad pun intended).

i've always struggled to understand their allure, especially that uk show. but decent enough interview and props to them for the artinfo coverage. just to be clear about the houston and bowery mural, it was put up like a billboard in strips. the tearing effect was part of the original digital mock up they printed out in strips and not actually hand torn pieces of overlaid imagery..correct? it looks like they further accentuated the printed out torn look by highlighting it with white paint. just making sure the pictures haven't deceived me and they actually did all the layering and tearing themselves.

that Faile doesn't even look like a Faile. those jeans? i can't stop staring at them. as a side note....when did aiko move on and go solo? maybe i'm a little more used to the patricks on their own.
