This should be completely different from recent shows / retrospectives since this will span his entire career and will include work loaned from collectors.

I have heard it's January 2012... but that's information that I got in April, so it may be incorrect or changed by now.

Didn't think this was being released until Jan. Have one on preorder through Roberts and Tilton, as it was cheaper for US residents obviously. Guess I'll be touching base with them to see if they have copies to distribute yet.

anyone know if there are any special editions of the book to be released? i'd wager no. he's released a few of these smallish monograph style publications and all only had a single general release. but with all highly uneducated things i say, i could be wrong. |

Thanks for heads-up. I've ordered one. I'm sure they'll be cheaper somewhere else with patience, but this book has been such a long time coming that I couldn't wait anymore!

So don't order from the Roberts and Tilton link I included in my ArrestedMotion piece a while back if you want it before Christmas. Just heard back from them saying the Alleged Press won't be shipping their allotment out until then. Grab one from Damiani if you're impatient like afroken and myself.

My copy arrived today. It's a great book! No words in it whatsoever, mostly photography but interspersed with art work and photographs of his major exhibitions. What's great about it is that it really beautifully communicates the mind of Barry McGee putting his work in the context of the often seedy and chaotic world that it reflects. Highly recommended!

Glad to know that this book's finally out and there's absolutely no word in this book which totally suits me well. I've been waiting for this book for soooo dayum long and even had it pre-ordered from Robert & Tilton. But now that it's out, I've canceled the order from R&T and will simply wait until Amazon has it as I've gotten a few pre-orders from Amazon at this moment.
I truly love his chaotic works and I'm hoping to acquire his cluster of work one day!
