Hello all, As I wrote in my first post, I have been checking out this forum for a while and have discovered great stuff here but now it is a good opportunity to also start posting. I mentioned it yesterday too, I now live in Greece, and not even in one of the big cities or the tourist places or even the sea!, but in the 'deep', quiet mainland So imagine my surprise when walking down a street in a nearby town I saw the image below. The artist's name is Alexandros Vasmoulakis, he is from Athens. I think he is great, you can see some more of his work at his page www.zap51.com. Hope you like it. In general I am very happy that young artists here have finally started breaking away from the 'formality' of the older generation artists. Feels great and there are so many artists to still be discovered!

I grew up in Greece, there are tons of graf artists/street artists there doing there own thing, actually a lot more then I see here in NY now days. Probably has to do with the laws in place, you get caught in Greece you need to clean up the mess, you get caught in NY you can go to prison. There was a huge boom in the movement when I was in highschool in the mid 90’s and all of a sudden everyone had a tag, of course the people with skills continued on to do actual pieces and in some cases have moved on to the gallery scene while the rest just disappeared as quickly as they appeared.

nadiax, thanks for bringing Alexandros to everyone's attention. He is an amazing talent and we are fortunate enough to be working with him here in LA. We sold 3 of his paintings in Miami at Art Basel and are looking forward to getting a few more pieces this summer before his first US solo exhibition early next year. also working on a wall for him to paint here in LA...anyone got at least a 5 story building for us? He has some images on our artists page: lebasseprojects.com/?linkTo=artists

Great pieces. I especially like the larger canvas in the 2nd pic.
