The World Health Organization earlier today elevated the H1N1 swine flu threat level to a "phase 5", meaning that a pandemic is imminent. I am not in a state of fear yet. I'll be scared if and when someone I know is afflicted... or when our gov't asks its citizens for mandatory flu shots. At that point I'll be terrified. For the record, I do buy into many unpopular conspiracy theories (anyone watch the Zeitgeist films?), so forgive me.
But I'm not taking it that lightly. I do realize people have died as a result of this particular strain. Like everyone else, I'm monitoring things via the media. Some of it may or may not be fear mongering though - the way only our media expertly can. Related imagery and hysteria I haven't seen conjured up since I watched George Romero's The Crazies or the Andromeda Strain film based on the Michael Crichton book.
Well, I also can't get some of the images from some of our favorite pop surrealists out of my head either!! : ) Here are some swine/pig images I hope you'll enjoy. Feel free to add other pig or wild boar images I may have missed
