Well tonight when I got home I left my front door of my condo open while I put some groceries on the counter. I had no idea my wife had the windows open in the condo which created an air lock type effect. From what I know this caused the door to slam knocking a small LEBO canvas piece off the wall that was temporary being held by a single nail as I was trying to get a placement for it after painting the wall. I totally forgot to take it down when I left. Needless to say the canvas popped off the wall fell about 8 feet hitting a very heavy solid steel side table. The table and bottom of the canvas met and the canvas must have caught something on the way down as it is a mixed media work and the top left seems to have come undone on the way down. I have looked at it and framing would hide the issues most likely but deep down inside do we all not look at art as a investment. I contacted my insurance company so I guess I am lucky of two things, Number one I have insurance, Number two it was not a more expensive work. I guess I am at a delima to see what to do.

For my insurance, I have a separate policy from my renters for all of my art that is appraised at over $1000. It is fairly cheap and is much more concrete as far as what is covered and claimable. Sorry bout your situation. Hope it works out.
