Last show the 30" x 40" were $8,000. This seems absurdly high for a 12" x 12" that I wouldn't even consider near Josh's best. It would be interesting to know what the four offers were. I would think $3,500 would be on the high end for this piece but who knows with how much Josh is in demand at the moment?

You're right - it was 12" x 12" and they were asking $6,500 and sold it for $5,700. It was a Watcher piece.

It's off the Bay now. Guessing it got sold in a private off-line transaction.

The seller probably paid $1,000 for this piece not too long ago. Can't hate on him though, if the market is out there, why not take advantage of it.

actually, I think this piece has been flipped a few times. I was offered this piece from someone, which was not the original owner some time ago. I think it sold for 5k on this ebay sale.
In regards to all the flipping with Josh's work, he definitely doesn't seem to care, but it is not good in the long run for the work to be getting into hands that are just buying it to sell it. Obviously just my 0.02.

Damn, owning a Keyes is defintively better than giving money to Madoff!
more seriously, fliping is a part of the game, and I really dislike it because it gives situation like the one we had when LAG realease a Josh's print; server down, lot of people angry and tons of ebay listing. At least the last one was a very big run and a lot of flippers make reserve and are stuck on the bay now...
