Anyone know how much the Kaws product painting at last night's Angel Art Auction sold for? When we're competing with the likes of Terry Richardson, did we ever really have a chance

Wasn't that photo taken at Kaws studio? I'm sure I've seen it before on his blog.

No clue. Was more using it fodder for sarcasm, as I found the number of collector friends I was also bidding against last night humorous. But that makes sense. I had never heard of Richardson collecting KAWS and I know the Grandpa PP was included in Aldrich, where all the work was provided from Brian's personal archives.

Well, I know for a fact I didn't win as I've since found out that someone I know bid $15k. They don't know if they won either.

I wanted to bid on that PP badly but timing us not good. I kinda would expect close to 20k, its a great little piece.

No drawing though Hey Hung - I know - I was opening the cover hoping for a "Bendy" sketch after having seen some of the other Colette editions, but hey, gotta love these! on another note - what a nice production. The bindings are flawless. The different sections of the book are set apart with different paper stock, sizes etc...good read too. Jim

I've never owned a Kaws piece. Out of curiosity, for those of you that own pieces, are the eye "x" markings on the figure heads painted on, or is there a depression in the mold along with paint? Hope that makes sense, it's something i've recently wondered about.

Yeah, I'm really impressed with these pieces - I'm trying to imagine the ever-changing depth of perspective of these which is a given with Robert Lazzarini but its a bit hard in photos. These are definately one to be best appreciated in person! Jim
