The wonderful Andrew Hem has just released a print of one of my all-time favorite paintings... check it out. Limited edition of 30. Ultrachrome print on heavy archival cotton rag paper. Signed and numbered. 13x25. $120.

The painting was originally created as two windows into that world. At the time, he debated over whether to keep the left window as part of the painting, and asked his blog readers for their opinion. The consensus was to keep it.

I think the second panel looks good and works well in terms of the piece of original art. The print seems to loose the impact that the second panel adds to the composition and ends up looking rather awkward with the white line running through it. Shame the image is cropped too. The rounded corners carried the second panel on the original.

Ah well, I'll take what I can get. I've been wishing for this print for ages and never thought he'd actually issue one. If anyone here has the original and wants to part with it, I'm game!

don't get me wrong amanda - i love the image. ...just think its a shame that the print has lost the rounded corners that identified the fact that this was 2 pieces together...

It's true, the rounded corners were nice.
