new yorkers - do you know this place?

my good lady is taking a group of students to new york in a couple of week's time...
the exchange university has messed up the accommodation so she's now trying to find an alternative.

just wondering if any of you new yorkers know of this place - www.centralparkhostel.com/ - and could say if it's an ok place or not?
she's heard both good and bad things from her NY friends....

It's good for a group that can rely on subways, and such... and the area isn't so bad... but in terms of the actual hostel, let's just say that washrooms are a little "iffy"...

But if they need a place just to sleep... well... it's good for that...
