gilsteph, thanks for sharing. i love the john simpson piece, and the framing compliments the artwork beautifully. you seem to have a lot of variance in the pieces you have - between dan may and sweet toof. i wonder what came first; the street art or the more pop surreal side of things?

Hi svenman, I started out with films :-) ..... Peter Greenaways movies turned me onto art and just as I was leaving university the YBA movement happened. Sensation at the RA is still the best show I have ever been to. I even managed to get a small Damien Hirst Then I got into more traditional artists, like Peter Howson I must admit I got a bit bored and then the "urban" art scene exploded. Banksy, Nick Walker, Faile all captured my imagination. And I was lucky that prices werent as crazy as they have been recently. And I must have a short attention span because this "scene" has began to bore me a little and I have got into the pop surrealism more. I love the web though.....it opens up so many more possibilities and connections to like minded people that didnt exist a few years ago! Thats the long answer....the short one is I buy what I like. Im looking round my room now and have a dozen or so different styles and mediums. I guess ultimately I like variety!

I have to echo Sleepboy's comments, it's a nice mix you have there but the standouts for me are the Tripp and Herakut pieces. I've always liked that particular Herakut.

Is the Hush Geisha an OG? The colors look bright and sharp. Your Hera is nice too. Great urban focus. Got a Minotaur Weapon myself while the only Micallef OG is a little portrait.

i haven't commented on your beautiful collection yet simply because i was looking for something fresh to say instead of echoing everyone else's comments on variety of pieces as well as how beautiful they are - but since i've got nothing new, i'll just cave and say WOW! love the variety and the especially the Munoz and Willcox pieces - just lovely. thank you for sharing!

Congrats on the Dan Harding piece! I stupidly slept on it at first, but then I decided I wanted it and it was gone I really regret it now. It was a really good price, and its one of my favourite pieces he has done. If you ever want to sell it in the future I will gladly take it off your hands The rest of your collection is sweet by the way

Dans work is cool.....and this is what he wrote about this piece in his blog
12×16 oils on canvas. I think this one needs a little explaining. It’s obviously Frazetta inspired who I am a big fan of with a little Biz thrown in. The meaning behind this is leaving the artists who have inspired me when I first began to paint behind. They still inspire me but not in the way they used to. This is for a show with a theme that’s meant to show this. I’ll post more info about the show as well as a flyer soon. Thanks for checking it out:)
