What do yo guys think? "SPECIAL Rx EDITION ~ LIMITED RELEASE ~ SERIES of 20 ~ Signed, Numbered and Titled by hand ~ Includes Certificate of Authenticity ~ Archival 100% Cotton Rag ~ Unframed ~ 11"x13" $1,500.00 It's a bit smaller in size than the original release of 88. I've been on the prowl for this print for some time now, but damn $1,500 is a bit steep. Hussar fans, what are your thoughts? I'm 50/50 on picking one up.

Think reopening any limited edition is really, really bad form. I would be pissed if I had purchased the 1st release. Id pass and if I owned the original Ltd. release id dump it.
Bane reopened Olivia limited editions (years ago) and it really hurt her market for a long time. (to this day)

I agree with virtu, but I have just fallen in love with some of his work and him so it doesn't phase me. Yet it doesn't mean that it's right to re-open a sold-out release.
And I agree that it could hurt the market.
But it's a sweet looking print... wish that I had the $1,500 lying around...

spot on virtu. VERY bad form. how can this be anything short of cashing in on his most popular image?

Yeah, not necessarily a good move, however it will allow for him to have a strong image on the walls of more homes, which is always a good thing. If anyone's due for a good museum show soon, I'd say he certainly makes the top of my list.

I could have bought the original print before it sold out but it was one that got put off then went. I won't be going near this and it has put me off his prints in the future .
This is a massive piss take in my book when he has so much other work he could have released instead .

Yep, I agree with the sentiment here. if you're going to do something like this (ESPECIALLY considering the rediculous price jump from the original edition) at least make it a limited hand embellished run or something to justify the new edition. Pricing these at the aftermarket price of the original edition really just screams "cash grab".

"Morphine" as a limited edition would be outstanding.

I would have liked to see "Lamb of God" as a limited edition instead. I think that would have gone over far better, and sold out pretty fast as well.

I was a little thrown with the re-release although I am lucky to own one of the first 88.
I was hoping for a new piece to consider. I agree that he has so many other pieces worthy of release. Morphine would be impressive
On a side note, I did contact birdbath about one of the APs since I have been sorry about missing "nazi" for some time. The $2K cost was to high for me

I am with everyone else on this as I think it is one of the unwritten rules of the art business to never open a limited edition again. But hey, at least it is "Signed, Numbered and Titled by hand". Although for that price I'd expect a bit more than that, and even more so for an image that is not new. I am still waiting for a book though, as I don't have the money to buy his prints (let alone originals).

Love this image but I agree with most everyone here that they shouldn't have done a 2nd edition. He has a lot of other images that would make for great prints...
