Its funny I was in the first wave of joiners for this board thanks to Sleep seeing a Luke painting I had on KR prior to that all my art came from 1 message board and gallery. This year is the first year I really feel like an art collector, I have always loved art but this board opened me up to 90 percent of my collection, prior to coming here the only artist I was truly aware of was Joe Sorren, now I own three works of his, been turned onto Nate Frizzell, Amy Sol, Monroe, Choe and so many others, and it was all because of this board and its members. I see other boards where people tend to be greedy with info regarding things and everytime I have had a question about anything there has never been a smart a$$ answer and that makes it very easy for me to spend so much time here. So I wanted to thank the board as a whole for a great year I have made some very good internet friends here and really thank you guys for helping me open my eyes to artists I never heard of and have grown to love. I also would like to thank you guys for giving me a break between school books as the wife thinks I am studying more then I really am.
GONNA BE A GREAT 2010

Couldn't have said it any better myself. I too was a member of KR and sleep reached out to me. So glad he did because i don't collect vinyl, and KR was my sole resource for lowbrow/pop surrealism art discussion and discovery. I visit this forum more than any other forum on the interwebsicles. The things i like most about this site are the interaction with the members, seeing their collections, getting their opinions, being exposed to new talent, reading about how excited they are to have picked up a new piece, all that stuff. I also really like the fact that a lot of the artists whose work we collect drop in and say hi...how cool is that? Love artchival.......cheers to a great 2010!

Although new here, here is what i think................. Artchival gave me a different perspective on collecting in to this type of genre. I like the way the discussion goes and board members are willing to share their knowledge and experiences regarding artist's work that they collect. I have always been an admirer mainly of US pop surrealism/ contemporary works, but reading forum entries and experiences really made me "jump" and go into actual collecting/ acquiring pieces. Although not new to collecting, this forum through its boardmembers' discussions further enhanced my "eye" in selecting good works from artists. The comments/ announcement posted are really helpful to the collectors and admirers/ patrons. Thanks and looking forward to 2010!

Artchival is the first tab on my start page, do I need to say more? I lurk much more than I post, but I love following all the interesting discussions here, the friendly spirit, getting head-ups on new editions and sharing the excitement. So thank you all, too.

Thanks. You are helping me break away from the stupidness that has become the KR Forum. This forum has helped me discover new artists and for, I am grateful. I have had the good fortune to meet some of you. The year 2009 came and went... so who knows what 2010 will bring.

I agree, this forum is so fantastic. I've been exposed to a lot of awesome artists, and it's great to be in a forum with fellow art enthusiasts who share their opinions, treasures, and finds.
Looking forward to a great 2010, wishing it to you all as well.

I am very proud of a community such as this, and I just love the enthusiasm and the depth of everyone here. I love that we have been lucky with having such personal interaction with the artists we enjoy, as well as the amount of knowledge that has been shared. It really has been a pleasure and here is wishing that 2010 will bring a wonderful variety of art in our homes. Artchival is really precious.

Dear Artchival community,
My name is gamma888. Ever since I've joined this community, my artsy brain has gone from minimal to phenomenal. I appreciate for your nitpicking on art knowledge as well as being open about your collections. I learn from this Artchival community more than ever than attending openings and mingle with the artists/collectors/dealers there. I think I only know one member here in the flesh yet you people actually give well thought and honest answers.
I share the same expression with Highbrow's break between school books and my wife actually thinks I'm studying more as well ;-)
Stay well and let's keep the artists productive and inspired in 2010!
Kind regards,
gamma888
