Danto_" Flyboy in the buttermilk " : " Despite the fact that Basquiat worked as a street artist for a time and even had a tag--SAMO--he viewed himself, from the outset, as a fine artist, and the unprecedented art world of the 1980s rightly accepted him on his own terms, ....... Watched a doc on Basquiat last night called "The Radiant Child". Seems like he was very intelligent and very likeable. What do you guys think of his work?
After pausing the dvd and looking at his pieces for quite a long time, i almost got it. Some of his pieces really jumped out at me. A few of them looked so simple but they really were special and amazing. But every time i saw the genius behind it, i couldn't help but focus on the image and see something that resembled childish scribbles. Maybe that's the beauty of his work. With the top art critics in the world calling his work "masterpieces" time and time again, he's obviously one of the greatest. I'm just wondering what about his work made critics say that? Did he usher in a whole new style? Or does it have more to do with the crowd he hung out with in the late 70's/80's, in Ny?

I've also thought the same thing and wondered if it was a case of "right place at the right time" I'll have to check out "The Radiant Child"

@ rsingletary____your Reply #42.
A big congratulations to you for the very 'first image posted' on a thread anywhere on the entire internet !!
---------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, I was so thrilled I explained my simple method in exact DETAIL. Yet, when I clicked the 'modify post' button the most vital info didn't appear. So, I don't know if it's this website ( or all websites ) that won't allow the secret to get out. Thus, I guess you'll have to discover how to do it on your own.
SORRY ! ___I did try to give exact instructions.
_______________________________________________________ Signed: Robert Singletary__Saturday August 13, 2011__9:38 A.M. (eastern standard time) USA * I can't believe it's taken me this long to figure out how to do it. I didn't use Photobucket.com or any other host.

Thats the interview they used in the movie by Schnabel with Christopher Walken as the interviewer. Some of it is word for word. Although that guy does a terrible Walken impersonation ;D

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is this an actual exhibit featuring several Basquiats or are they featuring one painting of his at the gallery? It wasn't clear to me on the website so I wanted to ask. Any help is appreciated.
