It will be a full exhibition. Gagosian on 24th is the church of contemporary art. It is a huge, huge space and, when filled correctly, is just amazing to see art in.

Full information on the exhibition will be posted soon. The show itself will likely be a mix of a few for-sale pieces among many loaned pieces.

The teaser piece is a prime 1981 work. If they continue in that vein, this will be a legendary exhibition and a nice re-visit, as I believe the last major Basquiat show in NYC was the retrospective at Brooklyn Museum in, I believe, 2005.

Got back from the very crowded opening a little while ago.

Well worth a visit. Two of my favorite Basquiat works were actually on display, which was a treat:

In the grand scheme of things, i don't rate Basquiat too highly but I do enjoy his work and enjoyed this show.
