Received the RW&B today. The UPS guy came by TWICE to deliver it in the snow (don't know why people hate on UPS but that's a different story). These are really great, thick layers of ink on some textured paper that unrolled by itself. It doesn't look like a print at all but a unique piece of art. Very happy.

Would you happen to have any price info of the non flag pieces from IMG_4636_art Sorry, I don't have any price info but maybe someone else does? Here is a little piece Saber snuck into the "Street Cred" show ( showthread) that I really enjoyed besides his other big piece.

One of Saber's pieces for the Letters From America show ( show thread). “My name is Saber and I am an artist from Los Angeles. I have been painting Graffiti/Street Art for over two decades. Along my path I have navigated through success and challenges that has helped defined the artist I am today. One of these defining characteristics is that I am an artist who suffers from Epilepsy with no access to comprehensive healthcare. Currently my largest obstacle is living in a country that has a broken healthcare system. I am one of the 50 million Americans that have been denied health insurance due to pre-existing condition clause that dominates the privatized healthcare system. I also make too much money to qualify for government-sponsored programs. With the stress of maintaining my epilepsy with no healthcare coverage I channeled my frustrations into inspiration by painting representations of the American Flag. These abstract flags became an important series for me because I painted them from my heart during a time when I was left to die in the country that I love so much. Because of the inflammatory nature of nationalism I was attacked by so called patriots in the media sphere for desecrating the American Flag. This only amplified my cause to speak up for healthcare reform as it directly affects my well-being and longevity as an artist. Quite literally, I paint for my life. Every painting I touch I try to envision the my pieces on a travel into the future as a record of the great emotional value as well as artistic merit that can only be matched by someone living under such extreme conditions during these tumultuous times. I only hope that after I am gone these pieces will be hung on the walls of a different era where we as nations care more about nurturing it’s citizens then perpetuating the system of profit over life. I am coming to warn the great people of the UK about the future disaster that can be avoided. The current trends coming from certain political parties are hell bent on the idea of dismantling the NHS and replacing it with an American style model. This has inspired me to paint my first Union Flag that is titled “The Flag Of The National Healthcare System”. This piece is created in honor of the United Kingdom’s approach to caring for it’s people by demanding access to comprehensive healthcare to all as well as helps me connect with my interesting genealogical lineage. This painted Union Flag is covered in four types of gold leaf as a way to signify how precious the NHS is to those who need her most. I realize every system has its glitches but the privatized healthcare system alternative will leave you bankrupt and homeless. Just wait until your grandmum is diagnosed with cancer and the health insurance companies deny her the life saving treatment. The guaranty of a privatized healthcare system is that when you need it most, they toss you out into the cold and then send in the wolves to collect your pension. It is up to every citizen to stand up for the right to a healthy existence without the hurdles and red tape the insurance company middle man establishes between your well being and your doctor to save a buck just to please their shareholders. There is no room for empathy when there is only a motive for profit. Can you put a price tag on your health?”

saberone.com/shop/To be straightforward, purchasing these gilded Union Flag Lino prints will help me get a surgery I need immediately. You won’t go bankrupt in the United Kingdom over getting sick but in the good old U.S. of A, get sick and be treated like a third-class citizen. Due to some current circumstances, it seemed appropriate for me to dive into the Union Jack as opposed to the U.S. Flag considering the U.K takes care of its citizens through the NHS. I had fun creating these prints because I discovered the complexity of the basic math process to achieve a proper Union Flag. My art is what keeps me alive and moving, but I am one of the lucky ones…

Something he wrote: I want to apologize to the online art print community for not taking their earlier warning on this piece of s**t. I stopped all business with Lahoda after my "Pepper's World" print was black listed on the forums for working with him. After I believed he stopped dealing prints and or art I was generally ok with taking the walls as long as there was no business transactions. When LALA gallery opened I buffed my "Pepper's World" mural to make it clear I wanted nothing to do with this clown or his gallery. Unfortunately, it was too little too late as other artists assumed he must be clean again and started to use him as a resource for walls and business. Now, through his half ass gallery LALA he is now selling unauthorized Retna's, English, Shepard, Phish, Saber, Parla, Becca, Futura, Banksy, Dface, Robert Indiana's, etc... and is starting to produce new editions, most recent was Insa and some sort of Robert Indiana's. Please do not buy my older prints or ANYTHING from this crook. This is why it is not good to work with Lahoda: Any artist that works with Lahoda/Jetsetgraffiti/LALAgallery/Freewalls also gets called out or black listed on these major Streetart/Print/Graffiti forums. These particular forums drive the print art sales as well as the secondary markets. I personally had a print blacklisted temporarily on all these sites for working with Lahoda "Pepper World" in 2010. I did not sell any of the edition from the release. The people on the forums said they love my work, but they will stop the momentum of the online sales because of my association with JetSetGraffiti/Lahoda. Any artist that works with Lahoda also gets red flagged by the LAPD art fraud detective. This detective has been relentless in poking his nose in our business due to our loose association with Lahoda, and any artist or organization that works with him gets investigated for perpetuating his art fraud. After the stress of my final print and being contacted by numerous collectors of his ill will I decided never to do business with him again. It was my mistake to allow us to take his walls and billboards as now he has gained reputation off the artists back as well as gained the confidence of major institutions like MOCA and major billboard companies. I told him numerously to stop selling me and my friends work on his site and through twitter/instagram. He has no care for the value or market price of the work and has caused complications with galleries and collectors. He has also stolen two large sculptures from Dface that he holds in his "secret warehouse" as well as Banksy's, and Shepard Fairy's, etc.... From what I understand Daniel Lahoda has been banned from Banksy forum, Obey, Expressobeans, Melrose and Fairfax, Vandal Log, art.net etc ,etc,...for fraud, being an instigator/agitator, and selling unauthorized artwork. Lahoda has sold work to collectors and never sent the product to them, many many times. I have been contacted by collectors that purchased my work who had never received the artwork. Lahoda can be very charismatic and can come across as someone who wants to help the "Street Art" community. Do not be fooled by his words as the facts prove otherwise. He is only in this for his personal gain. We are the artists and we are the content providers, not the other way around. Its time to cut people like him off. I am sure we will be seeing some defending responses from Lahoda fans, I would suggest making note of those user names as he has been known to be a busy troll on these forums. These sites have a tremendous impact on online sales as well as the artists reputation and have the power to affect your pocket book. Feel free to dig around and judge for yourself on his long standing reputation with the art community. These links are from just from a quick search. Those who speak highly of him haven't done the research or haven't dealt with the impending problems that are immanent. More and more information on Lahoda's crooked ways continue to flood these forums on a constant basis for years. Many of the positive pro Lahoda comments were him using different user names. Regardless, if any allegations are true, just working with his brand creates negative discussion soiling any momentum of art/print sales as well as creates a dark cloud over the artist. It's a strangely worded rant that makes Saber sound more worried about being blacklisted by forums resulting in reduced sales of his art. But at least the artists are beginning to see this guy for the crook that he is. I understand that Retna has been on the attack too.

Saber's a prick. He's known about Lahoda forever. Seems his bottom line has been hit recently so he's now giving a shit. Too little, too late..
BTW, Lahoda was supported by any number of people on here recently. I'd love to hear their opinion on this...

As a fan of Sabers work I agree he has probably known about Lahoda for sometime and to release his statement as it may have been the boycott in other forums regarding a print release or what have, however I also say I dont care why the reason I am happy to see him not working with him any longer. As far Saber being a prick, I have only dealt with him via email and his studio via email however I can say my personal experience they all were great, maybe in person he is something or someone different I am not sure.

i must admit, i've felt a little dirty if an artist i know, or i even have a level of respect for, has got involved with any of lahoda's projects. it's certainly made me lose a bit of respect for them. especially people from the uk that i know....
I'm really glad that saber has said this publicly, despite whatever his reasons are - hopefully it will discourage a few more artists from getting involved with such a person.
does anyone know what retna said on ig?
