Roa will be having a solo show at INOPERAbLE and the Street Art Passage in Vienna on August 26th. In preparation he started with doing this wall near the gallery. ROA's highly sought after books will also be available through the gallery. Limited copies so reserve yours now!www.inoperable.atvia Banksy Forum Went near the gallery and surveyed the area and wasnt able to see the dead animal! The gallery is a bit small i think, i wonder how the installation works would be. I'll check it on opening. It was a good long walk though, i shouldve called the gallery days before ( they were closed that day.....). Ended up at KFC though.........

I think I know where this is, but only because I recognized a bar in the background I hope to get there before it gets painted over by some idiots (although I think the Viennese are just too lazy). We have to meet at the opening!

I went to Inoperable Gallery yesterday and also checked out the mural close-by which looks great. From a conversation I had overheard at the gallery the animal is supposed to be a squirrel (interesting, as I would not have recognized it). They still take preorders for the book which costs 165 Euros (prepayment is necessary). No print release is planned, but there will be a lot of smaller works. That's all info I got.

Funny that it costs €5 more than from Skalitzers Gallery Berlin (his last show). But they've run out, so I guess each gallery ROA exhibits at now get a small portion of the books...

Berlin, Kreuzberg on the back of the artist's house Bethanien. I like that it's a "faster" piece, more like a big sketch.

In Berlin, the small ink drawings (in jars) started at €350 and went to €1500. IMHO a bit much...

Well, he's selling original works upwards of 10-20K now US so to get a drawing for around 500/600 US sounds pretty good to me. He's only going up from here. His pricing went up a good bit after the MOCA show and rightfully so.

500 to 600 as a low end for an original seems fair to me. well, i guess it depends on just how "small" they really are. there aren't many artists out there that i feel can produce a drawing that could fit into a jar and get away with it.

Since the "price" of an artwork is entirely a construct, I won't argue your points, but to maybe show what we are talking about: (from the ROA thread on the banksyboard)

so much of what I enjoy about Roa is the pieces that change when you open a door or change your perspective so I am not really feeling this as much. Doesnt change my status as a fan but I dint feel like I had to have any of the pieces on the price list.

Got to see the show and talk to Roa. Nice guy!!! About four pieces left unsold. Great to see Katrin also! The wall piece with roll-ups to see the skeleton was clever! Yes, it was so nice to meet again! The installation and the larger pieces were great. Your pictures are way better than my crappy phone pics Inoperable Gallery also posted an album here: www.flickr.com/photos/inoperable/show/

Roa is working on a new mural in Cologne these days: (via StreetArtNews) looks like it's gonna be one of those skinned rabbits we saw @ his last show in Vienna
