#99 WAYNE GRETZKY "THE GREAT ONE"
I wanted my 99th post to be in honor of the greatest player to ever play the game of hockey.
Even though the US lost a heart breaker in these 2010 Olympics, I hope many people got to see how amazing the game of hockey is.

I remember when I was a 10 year old kid, fresh from London to Detroit, my family and I visited my uncle in Chicago. He took my brother and I to a Blackhawks vs. Oilers game. I was lucky enough to see Wayne and Messier play. That's something i still remember 23 years later.

The owner of a restaurant I worked at years ago used to take me to Ranger games all the time around the years Gretzky was playing for NY. Amazing seats looking just over the glass and nothing below but an area where photographers and crew stood.
Got to see Gretz score a hat trick against Florida in the playoffs.

I have a signed Oilers ticket from Gretzky that I won off a Street Fighter 2 Super Nintendo battle with a friend years ago!

Went to New York for my 30th in '98 and saw the Rangers v Canadiens on my birthday, mediocre game and Gretzky didn't play much, but it was the first time I'd seen a US hockey game and the first and only time in the 'Garden'. I also lived in Arlington Tx for a few months in the early 90's and saw Nolan Ryan. If I'd only got to see Michael Jordan I'd be a happy man.
