That is indeed a new work for his March show "Self Portrait 2009 (My Ball & Chain)," pretty large at 24 x 36" and looks pretty good actually if you see it in higher res. Definitely pokes fun at himself.

Better image I am secretly hoping that this will be is last show of this kind, in terms of style and that he will unshackle himself from the what has become his signature style.

How much more expensive are the exact same paintings from the last show going to be in this show?

How much more expensive are the exact same paintings from the last show going to be in this show? ? I think he's talking about the "mermaid" piece that made its debut at Copro...only to show at another show a few months later at a higher price. Not sure, but that's what i'm assuming.

Disintegration is being released by G1988 this week.
There hasn't been any word whether there's going to be a print release at Corey Helford yet. In all likelihood, it won't even be announced if there will be one so that the fans that show up for the show can get first dibs instead of those looking to flip.

All of the releases in the past couple of years (not sure about before that) have been announced somewhere or other haven't they?

Secured 'Disintegration' as well. I prefer the Gun-Hand print over the Knife-Hand, and hope to get that too in a few weeks.

You could look at it another way perhaps. With at least 4 prints being released within 4 weeks, starting with 'Disintegration', you at least have options. I enjoy his work but frankly am not moved to buy every single print he releases. It is just unwise considering the market and other interesting shows coming out.

Met up with Luke last night. Looks like he's more than halfway done with his body of work for Corey Helford. He's shooting for about 20 paintings. I was pretty impressed with his concepts for this show and also it seems he's taking some risks with some of the paintings that are a little more different than what we are used to...more raw and loose. Hopefully I'll have some pics to share soon.

very cool update! Hoping he does take some risks and switches it up a bit. I love seeing work from artists evolve and take on different directions. his piece where he is shackled to the bear really says alot about many artists who become popular and sometimes limited by their fans.

Am i wrong when i assume that if he doesn't switch it up a bit it may affect his career in a negative way? Isn't that the case with Ledbetter's work as of late? Not that it's not desirable, but i've noticed that JLed's stuff is not selling nearly as quickly as it used to.
