I'm going to NYC next week for the first time and I'd really like to find some good places to see street art... I've been told to walk around Soho and Williamsberg BK. Does anyone on this board have any other favorite spots? Specific streets would be really appreciated! I'm sure you guys/girls have some good spots to share. What about galleries with street art shows going on right now? I'm gonna check out Joshua Liner gallery to see the barnstormers show before it's gone, and I'll probably walk by Deitch projects and Johnathan Levine just because they are such big names to me. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers!

There is Brooklynite Gallery.. www.brooklynitegallery.com/There is Fuse Gallery… www.fusegallerynyc.com/Great place for street art is DUMBO York street station on the 6th, saw Swoon hanging out there just last week. Also there is a great area for graffiti by PS1 that you can reach by the 7 train Court Square stop or just by staying on the train as you get a great view from the elevated tracks. The Mr Brainwash show icons is still taking place at 415 W.13th Street in the Meat packing district, I believe it’s free at the moment. There is also the Upperplayground Store that has been taken over by Alex Paradee’s Zero friends label right now that is pretty neat with Giant robot next door. You can check the Giant Robot website to see who’s showing right now, I believe it’s a group show. 437 East 9th Street New York, NY 10009-4935 8th street St. Marks is the closest stop on the 6. There is a giant OS Gêmeos mural on the corner of Houston Street and the Bowery

Thanks Jediak! My trip has been cut down to a day an half now, so we'll see how much I can pack in, I'm really excited to check out the OS Gemeos mural for sure! Gracias!

I didn't know where to post this here or purchase opportunities or shows and events. It doesn't seem to have much press so maybe some lower bids might slide though, but its for a good cause so not to low. Might be worthwhile to pop in for those in NYC.

I wish I was going to be in NYC next week for this. Darn it, one week off :-(. Is anyone going to Wooster collective meet up tonight at Max Fish Bar? I'm going to try to make it but my flight doesn't get in til 11:30pm. Fingers crossed that people are still there around 12:30/1pm

Interesting article in The New York Times about what might be the world's largest graffiti tag, on the streets of lower Manhattan: " An Artist's Alfresco John Hancock."
