thanks for sharing your wonderful collection alex. if you have only recently begun, you are off to a fantastic start. i'm particularly envious of your christina empedocles piece. the simple framing compliments and enhances the enjoyment of the artwork itself.

That James Jean is really special and the frame you selected really compliments it.

They really do look amazing. The colors look incredible in these digitals, definitely a different impression from an earlier view.
I really like the Jeans you have... where does he show and, if I'm not rude in asking, is his work super pricey?
Nicely done on swapping out for museum plexi. Makes a huge difference.

Cool, I'll monitor for his next show. I always feel like I'm a day late and a dollar short in collecting, "discovering" artists when it seems like I'm like the last person to do so... But I'm really trying hard to be a more disciplined collector.
The greens in the one piece really pop. It looks great on the wall.
Yeah, I need to redo the framing on my Ushiro to put museum glass/plexi. The reflections can really distract.

Very nice James Jean pieces. That Twelve Head is one of the nicest I've seen.

That Twelve Head is one of the nicest I've seen. I actually really like this piece as well..and I typically don't enjoy most of his predominantly abstract works. To be honest, ever since being utterly blown away with his Levine solo last year, I've really been struggling to appreciate almost every single piece he's produced since that body of work. It's unfortunate, as I think he's a talented artist. Perhaps my interest in this style of work is simply waning. Or perhaps it's because he's become more experimental and free form with his compositions. But Twelve Head is wonderful. The color palette, with the greens, works so well. Congrats.
