I enjoyed that, when it started I thought I knew what it was, and it was that sort of film that's very nice, where young people walk through nature in nice but simple clothes, and everyone is quite confident and life is good and the camera looks up at the sun a lot and the colours are nice. I have a friend who makes films like that. They are good films. There is lots of music that has that sort of imagary, young folk music that I'd probably like. But sort of hate it. In the way I hate most television. It's too confident and caught up in it's own image to mean anything to me. So I thought the video was that and that would be sort of fine, it is a lovely song, there is lovelyness in the lyrics and the sounds, so it wouldn't be wrong. But then this realness started creeping into it, a humour, very subtle irony, a quality of film that carries more associations of real life than beautiful bleached out by the sun, and friendship and joyous ameturis and all that crept into the video and it made the words real and the loveliness honest and strangely touching. I think it's great. Thanks for sharing... x |
